VE Aura is also a big one, isn't it? 64A U18t comes to mind, even Anni. Maybe they don't sound so similar and I don't have them for a direct comparison, but these are the ones I like a lot and I always seem to gravitate towards the same signature.- mikaik

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
I actually use this method since I caved in and bought the leather case which covers the card slot. Speed is decent, but I wouldn't transfer large amounts of data. BTW, the N3U drives the empyrean 2 wonderfully, as expected.- mikaik

I Still have to try it with Mest Mk3, if the problem persists, I'll blame it on the adapters. I'll probably end up buying the Yatono anyway, look how nice it matches the Advar 😁. Sounds great too. No treble problems here.- mikaik

Big Brise lover here. I'm testing the Yatono Ultimate 4w with the Traillii at the moment and I'm getting mixed results. The bass is more textured, more microdetails, but the treble is a bit too energetic for me. I use an adapter, "cause the cable is mmcx ended, but I don't think this alone can...- mikaik

The discovery thread!
Not exactly cheap, but I got these mainly for the design. Don't be fooled though, they sound pretty good. TRN azure dragon. They come with a modular cable and three nozzles (not these though, as I bought the demo from HighEnd). Planar magnetic.- mikaik

Astell&Kern NOVUS IEM collab with Empire Ears
Very good looking set, but a pain to photograph :) Massive soundstage, great tonal balance, articulated bass, perfectly dosed highs, they do everything right. Very good for metal 🤘 and they pair nicely with the new SP3000T, but also with my old SP2000T. Unfortunately (or luckily?) they are way...- mikaik

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
That's about 600 Eur, the price I've paid for it, so I feel your pain. I do love the player, so no regrets whatsoever. The simple interface is right up my alley, no need for streaming, BT, etc. Simplicity: turn on, select album, click play, enjoy the music. I do have other daps, so if it breaks...- mikaik

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements
😀 I'm also consolidating, I bought yet another showing case for the new additions. Azurys, I guess. But I had limited time with them.- mikaik

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements
I got a chance to listen to them and I think all that was said in the two videos is spot on. Including the fact that the reduced weight might put off some people. I had quite a shock when I picked them up, they are very light indeed. They seem well made, but at the same time somehow fragile...- mikaik

Luxury & Precision (LP) W4, Successor to Their Popular W1/W2 USB Dongle is Here!
Does the battery stay on when W4 is restarting? I would assume it doesn't detect the power draw and it restarts. Your battery has two ports, right? try to connect the USB hub or other small consumer to the other port, see if it makes a difference. I get this with the original cable and a...- mikaik

I'm also from Munich and will be attending highend on Sat and Sun. Interested in seeing and hearing the cables if it's fine with you.- mikaik

It's fine, I'm not holding you responsible for my ordering of the AK 😃. I've already placed the order some time ago. Nor am I delusional to think it'd come close to the Mjolnir. You did test a number of options and still went for the AK. That's a good sign. I'm not after the most technical...- mikaik

If someone with the Mjolnir has ordered the SP3KT, that's all the reassurance I needed. 😃 I've already ordered one, until it arrives I'm enjoying your photos and comments.- mikaik
