USB DAC suggestions needed for Senn 650 / KICAS amp?

Thanks, I'll take a look at those DACs.  I'm currently leaning toward a used V-DAC with pyramid power supply since it received great reviews for a budget DAC.

USB DAC suggestions needed for Senn 650 / KICAS amp?

My DAC is the weak link in my current rig and I hope to upgrade it to meet the level of the other components.  It also broke down on me recently, and while I may be able to have it fixed by a buddy, I'm still thinking about a new DAC.  I currently am running a Super Pro DAC707 DIY paired with a...

Need advice on RCA splitter cable

Just received the ultralink connectors, and they are very heavy and seem like quality. The sound is great :)

Need advice on RCA splitter cable

Just today I went to purchase the AA ones and they were out of stock (1 day late I guess!). Amazon and Onecall were also out of stock.    So I decided on these: http://www.amazon.com/Ultralink-Ul-0522-2-Rca-Y-Adapters/dp/B000G0LHW4   They were roughly the same price, but perhaps a few...

Need advice on RCA splitter cable

I need a 1 RCA male to 2 RCA female splitter to listen to my headphones and speakers from my PC DAC. I read a few posts and I am a bit confused as to what is the best connector, but it seems to me that using an adapter that has no cable would be the best as it decreases the possibility for...

Is it possible to run USB DAC (headphones) and soundcard (speakers) at the same time?

I searched for a bit and came to the conclusion that is presented in this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/66163/rca-y-splitters-cause-any-signal-degradation   It should not cause degredation that is noticable, at least not if the cable length remains relatively short.

Is it possible to run USB DAC (headphones) and soundcard (speakers) at the same time?

Thanks Yoga Flame! Why didn't I think of that?!   I'm wondering if that would impact the SQ negatively for the DAC>Amp>Headphones? Or how many times can you split the signal before it degrades is some way?  For example, what is the limit to splitting the signal, because by this logic I could...

Is it possible to run USB DAC (headphones) and soundcard (speakers) at the same time?

For some time, I've been running XP with a Diamond soundcard connected to a USB DAC with fiber optic, not USB, because the USB connection was slow/spotty. I also had a pair of A2 desktop speakers connected to the 3.5mm jack in the soundcard, therefore I could listen to either the desktop...

Looking for an alternative to the lack of bass in Senn 595s.

I wanted to update everyone who might read this and feel the same way...I found a deal on the Denon A2000 that I could not pass up ($190 as of Nov. 2010) and I absolutely love them!  It seems I'm following in omgitsoop's footsteps.  I did not intend to move towards a closed can, but I heard such...

    Review: Koss UR 55

tdockweiler, thanks for the tip.  Actually I did see your review and mod as it seems that you are all over the internet talking up the UR55s (head-fi, amazon), haha.  The unfortunate thing is that you can't do the mod without losing the lifetime warranty and as these are a gift, I've got to let...

    Review: Koss UR 55

I just picked these up for my girlfriend as her christmas present.  They also came with the IEM pulse KEB40 as well for free :)   I own Sony mdr v6, Sennheiser 595, and Denon A2000.  I've got a Superpro 707 DAC and Total Airhead Amp.   Obviously my daily listening is with cans much...

Looking for an alternative to the lack of bass in Senn 595s.

Maybe it's a feature of a closed can that is not the same for open cans.  Sometimes the Sony mdr v6 headphones just make the music sound more lively and present than the much more expensive and articulate Senn 595s.  I sit at work with the Sony's and am amazed sometimes with how much the bass...
