I need a 1 RCA male to 2 RCA female splitter to listen to my headphones and speakers from my PC DAC. I read a few posts and I am a bit confused as to what is the best connector, but it seems to me that using an adapter that has no cable would be the best as it decreases the possibility for signal degredation, such as these two:

I was also considering:

I am leaning towards the first one because it seems like good quality and simple with no extra cables (Audioquest - Hard Y-Adapter - 1 Male to 2 Female RCA)

I need two of them and do not want to spend over $30 or $40.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

AA seems to be out of stock. Amazon does too.

I would use that hard splitter if I was looking. I actually have one of those from an Audioquest subwoofer cable. Very heavy duty.

I found a couple places that might have it in stock.

I don't believe that you could possibly detect any difference in sound either way(hard vs. Y cable) but I think the hard would provide longevity.

Just today I went to purchase the AA ones and they were out of stock (1 day late I guess!). Amazon and Onecall were also out of stock.

 So I decided on these:

They were roughly the same price, but perhaps a few dollars cheaper.  From what I understand, Ultralink is a good brand.

Just received the ultralink connectors, and they are very heavy and seem like quality. The sound is great :)

I am in the same situation.  Does anyone have any thoughts on using one of these splitters vs getting some kind of switchbox device?  And does anyone have any recommendations for a fairly inexpensive switchbox that might sound good?
