Will a male to male cable work the same as a LOD with an ipod
I see LOD used a lot refering to a cable which as the ipod base connection and a 3.5mm jack. Would a 3.5mm male to male cable do the same job? Straight into the headphone jack to a amp? Also I am getting a t-amp with a red-white RCA input. So would I need a LOD then a Y cable? i.e...- Marshall969

Advice please- PC speakers with AMP
So after more research The TP20 seems like the way I will go however I really want to know: Sound cards are in essence a DAC, yes? So I dont have to buy an external one unless I seek exceptional quality? Will this work with an Ipod/TV? I assume they have to have built in DACs for us...- Marshall969

Okay so from what I gather I am safe to get the TP20 however it does not come with a DAC and thus would be using my motherboards poor quality DAC or alternately soundcards DAC. I have a creative X-Fi titanium and a xonar essence XT (however this seems to be having problems lately...- Marshall969

I.e when can people use the TP20 directly without one. In plugging it into the the pc will I...- Marshall969

Okay so I quite like the Topping TP20 (2020 chip) and the TP22 (2050 chip) I was looking at some PSB alpha B1 bookshelf speakers where the sensitivity is 89-91 and the nominal impedance is 8ohms. The recommended power is 10-90 watts. Would the TP20 be enough? This is rated at 20...- Marshall969

Thanks again. The thing I really dont understand is how many watts the amp needs to be to drive the speakers. Will the 2020 (which is 20 watts) run a 70 watt speaker? On the other hand if I were to put my old 15watt logitech z5500 speaker on it in the meantime until I get a better...- Marshall969

Thanks so much for your quick reply. Okay so with a T- amp what are some reputable brands? If I get 100 watt speakers does this mean I need an amp rated 2x100watt? Thanks :)- Marshall969

Hi Guys I am very new here and need some advice. I am going to get some new PC speakers. I used to have some Logitech 5.1 which I know aren't really that fantastic in quality anyway. I have recently moved and now only have room for two stereo speakers. I am open to either...- Marshall969
