    Westone Customs: Never Again

Westone repair service, still crap! I finally found my ES2 customs in a moving box. They were safely packed with ventilation and dessicant. When I plugged them into a sound source for a listen, the exact problem that I paid Westone repair „service“ to fix years ago is still present. I can take...

    Westone Customs: Never Again

I have only just read your question, sorry. I have heard rather negative things recently about Westone customer service. Lots of smiles and faux politeness but undependable.

    Westone Customs: Never Again

I have been a Head-Fier since 2006 and own a few custom monitors, and my Westone ES2s are the only ones in the collection that have developed problems. Getting them to fit properly when new was a PITA, and it has been downhill from there. My ES2s are now in for the second repair in the last...

I can see that these are "deep canal" earpieces.  Did you ask specifically for that, or did they know to do it?  (Customs with shallow canals just don't work for me.)  Cheers.   Quote:

Network Security in a Hotel Setting?

Indeed.  What is the wired portion of the router doing for us (if anything) from a security perspective?  It's not just a dumb hub, after all.

Network Security in a Hotel Setting?

My family and I are staying in an extended stay hotel while we are moving. The hotel has free but unsecured wired and wireless internet access. I checked it out, and sure enough, it's basically like connecting to an insecure, open LAN. I was able to see about fifty guest computers on the...

the Audiologists impressions thread (pun most definitely intended ;) )

Anybody have a positive experience with an audiologist in the Washington DC metro area, one who understands custom IEMs and can make reliable earmolds or impresssions? A few years ago I went with a UE-recommended audiologist, and I had to provide quite a bit of coaching for the "pro" who...

Audiologist (With Least Refits in DC Metro Area) for Westone ES3X Impressions?

Sorry--posted in wrong forum--didn't notice there was now an IEM forum. If there are any moderators lurking, please move it for me, and thanks in advance.

The Head-Fi mods are very laidback :)

Mods here use good old common sense, thankfully. (In sharp contrast, on photo.net the mods tend to jump into threads and body-slam newcomers--I don't understand that. They are also some of the most frequent, testy posters, and that gets reeeeeeaaallly old.)

Audiologist (With Least Refits in DC Metro Area) for Westone ES3X Impressions?

Already posed this question via email to Westone--nothing heard. Has anyone had any good experiences with DC area audiologists making impressions for customs? I had some Westone ES2s made a while ago, and I think the impressions weren't the best--needed several refits. I am likely a...
