HiFiMan HE4XX
Right, I'm not into chasing the diminishing of return. I'd rather wait for a reasonably priced electrostatic set and spend my money else where. 20 years ago people were fine with HD650, currently I just use it as reference. Running them with DX7 pro, I like both of my headset over HD650. Also I...- kyotousa

HiFiMan HE4XX
I alternate between Focal Elegia and HE4XX, I think it's fine with quartets and jazz, terrible with anything vocal. Then again, that's in comparison with Focal. They are pretty great with vocal.- kyotousa

Yes, the economics formula is a simple Revenue - Cost = Profit formula. Anyone who took economics 101 should know You are the one who is saying less margin equates to greater the product. Not me. This is what you said: I simply point out that you are incorrect. It seems like your wife agrees as...- kyotousa

HiFiMan HE4XX
Profit = revenue - expense and your scenario you could break out the expense by 1. warranty expense 2. cost of factory, material + labor So what you are actually saying here is that a successful company with bigger margin produce inferior product, The profit comes from their inferior product...- kyotousa

HiFiMan HE4XX
You measure the size of the company based on their capital and surplus/revenue. It's a simple financial measurement. The more cap/surplus the higher chance that company will survive the downturn of the economic hardship of the company. I'm merely stating the company have higher chance to survive...- kyotousa

HiFiMan HE4XX
I think you should measure the company by their revenue and capital/debt not the price of their headphone or do they pay for advertisement spot on headfi. Hifi-Man has been around for over 10 years and Pandemic probably bump their revenue a bit. So I have no doubt they will exist. We have...- kyotousa

HiFiMan HE4XX
I would make a bet on Hifiman being there for the next 3 years, but I won't make a bet that someone won't take your money close their FB page and run in the next 3 months. If your HE4XX disintegrated in 6 months, you are under warranty repair. So I called BS. If you are talking about repair...- kyotousa

Why would you trust an individual builder who could decide hang it up anytime than manufacture for warranty types of issue is beyond me. Did you even try to ask HifiMan to repair HE4XX?- kyotousa

What's wrong with my setup? Disappointing sound.
Why would you set the normalization off. Normalization is setting everything to reference level, which is equivalent to volume setting at 100%.- kyotousa

That's probably true. The companies are always chasing profit. I'm wondering if the hi-end headphone market has shrunken so much that there's less incentive to put R&D resource on it. The way I see it is that there are several ultra high value mid-fi like Hifiman that killed their profit...- kyotousa

That woulb be more fault on the Drop side instead of Sennheiser. I know everyone would want deal like 6XX, but 650 is like 20 years old. There's no way a company would discount their current flagship by 50%. lmao- kyotousa

Why do companies push out worse and worser headphones instead of remaking old ones?
Benefit of having chip controlled fridge? All the new feature requires chips, so you can just go to the new Samsung website and see the list of feature. Apparently you like stuff that has no features and surprisingly not everyone is like you. Apparently most people like new features. How is...- kyotousa

Why do companies push out worse and worser headphones instead of remaking old ones?
I disagree with the fridge example. First of all most of the modern stuff are chip controlled. The more advanced product line has more chips, hence more variables of failure. How does being steel last longer than say plastic? You are not jumping on your fridge. If you buy dumb down stuff it...- kyotousa

Is Parametric eq adjust based on some set parameter? In mathematical term parametric analysis means there's pre-set distribution. I'm just wondering if it came from the same concept.- kyotousa
