I bought my adapter on ebay years ago. It was only $40 USD. You should check your local ebay listings, you should be able to find something. I never liked the bulk of the adapter and the XLR end of the headphone cable cluttering my desk. Eventually I found a cable maker on Etsy that terminated...- Kerwin515

I have this ebay adapter and it works as expected. For me, it definitely widens the soundstage a tad and stereo separation is improved.- Kerwin515

I would say after going balanced, the soundstage became tad wider and stereo separation was a bit better. It sounded a little more open/better overall.- Kerwin515

I bought my adapter from a seller in Georgia last year. I haven't had any problems with it: https://ebay.us/Lsh1cc- Kerwin515

I have both the balanced adapter and the Sbooster MK. II and both offer significant improvements. The balanced adapter definitely widens the soundstage and, at least for me, makes things a tad more detailed. The Sbooster was a more readily noticeable improvement even with no burn in.- Kerwin515

I e-mailed sbooster about this and they thought that 13 was best, but yes, any voltage works. It's your preference.- Kerwin515

Well damn...I set the output voltage to 13.2V. It's even better! I immediately noticed a wider and deeper soundstage. Everything sounded more airy too.- Kerwin515

Just for due diligence, did you double check that you did in fact get the 120V version from the sticker on the body?- Kerwin515

@AlanU I applaud your DIY skills. This definitely is not for me. I just connected my Sbooster an hour ago and going through my reference tracks. I will break in at 12V first based on Sbooster's tech support. Definitely an improvement! First thing I noticed was that the noise floor is much...- Kerwin515
