Yeah, I meant dac.  I am not sure that I believe that they "had" to use the micro-sim because of space.  I think it's just another one of their proprietary games.  The ipad uses the micro-sim as well and it has oodles of room.  I am sort of new to the iphone world, does it use the same dac as...

well, the way I look at it is: my wife understands the difference between SD and HD, but she could care less. So to her there is no difference. Me however, it makes a HUGE difference. It is just the details that we care to spend time with. Coming from car audio, having demo'd many many...

the udac is 16 bit, the x-fi is 24 bit. music is all lossless via itunes or foobar with wasapi output. not sure if the music is 16 or 24 bit.

So I already own the udac, and the other day I just got a new desktop with the Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio card in it. I figured I would try out the audio card, just for grins. Well, to me, it sounds better than my udac. MY headphones are a pair of shure 840's with about 500 hours on them...

What about udac to LD II or III to either of these headphones? Slash: have you personally tried the udac with your 701's? Just curious.

I am getting much more familiar with this and I am wondering why the udac does not support 24 bit. I know the upcoming hdp does, but have no idea if its even the same chip. Is this a chip based thing or a drivers based thing?
