Takstar HF 580 Planar Headphones
@jasswolf Wow, the Windows Sonic option really did work for Netflix, I wish I knew this one before! Funnily enough, even the stereo option on Netflix was quiet, now it's perfect. :D @theangelboy Thank you for the help, maybe I'll buy a Dac-Amp combo, when I have some money to burn, because sadly...- K.Gabor

Takstar HF 580 Planar Headphones
Hi everyone! Could anyone please recommend me desktop preamps for the HF 580? My problem is, that the on-board audio of my PC is not enough for them. I have to bump up the volume to 100, and even then I can barely hear the movies on Netflix for example. My budget is about 100-150$. Thanks :)- K.Gabor

Takstar HF 580 Planar Headphones
Hi all! So I was really interested in planar headphones, and a few weeks ago I decided to buy my very first one. The hf 580's seemed like a good, budget friendly option, so I ordered them. Last week my takstars arrived, and immediately after putting them on, I noticed that the sound of the cans...- K.Gabor

Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar
"contributing to a DIY-er rather than a nameless, faceless corporation." Exactly the nameless faceless part is my big problem about this kickstarter. He didn't upload any personal info and it makes me really uneasy.- K.Gabor

DIY Planar magnetic heapdhones in details
True, but I have read somewhere, that planars don't tend to suffer much from EQ-ing in terms of distortion, so it should be fine even if i give it a few decibels on the low end. Ps: Here is the link...- K.Gabor

DIY Planar magnetic heapdhones in details
Thank you for the quick reply, I hope I'll be fine AMP-wise. I was concerned about the accurancy of the soundstage, hence I was a bit dumbfolded by the expression of the reviewer. I always like to know where the footsteps and sounds come from in game, so if these headphones are accurate in that...- K.Gabor

DIY Planar magnetic heapdhones in details
Hello all! I'm really interested in these phones, but besides listening to music I would also like to use them for gaming, so does any of you know what the soundstage of these like? One of the reviews stated, that it's wider than taller but I have no idea what that means. For me it would be...- K.Gabor

AV calibration microphone as measurement kit
So here is an update (not that anyone was interested given the number of replies my post got...). After extensive testing with my Takstar pro80 I came to the conclusion, that the calibrating microphone is quite accurate. Below you can see my recording and a professional one, and as you can see...- K.Gabor

AV calibration microphone as measurement kit
Hello all! First off, i'm a new member on this forum and in the hi-fi world as well, so I'm sorry if this may sound like a silly question. So I started making my own headphone from scratch, but I had to realise that it don't sound the way I would like it to. I came to the conclusion that I...- K.Gabor
