Nobsound NS-08E also know as Nobsound 6J9 hybrid tube amp

I'm genuinely curious about your findings: When you compared the e10k and the 08e, were you using the dac on the e10k vs a different dac for the 08e or does the e10k give a line out? (Mine hasn't arrived yet) I'm almost wondering if I should order both and just return the one I don't like as...

Nobsound NS-08E also know as Nobsound 6J9 hybrid tube amp

yes, I agree... but you also have units like the Bravo V1 & V2 that are true tube amps for $60/70.  Again, I'm not knocking the amp, I was a click away from buying it myself after reading reviews... but when I got all the facts, I was a little bummed out so I wanted to make sure everyone had...

Nobsound NS-08E also know as Nobsound 6J9 hybrid tube amp

after doing a lot of googling on this, as I posted in another thread, this video shows that the tubes are only used as a buffer and not for actual amplification in these units: https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_369287791&feature=iv&src_vid=9RhD-NO0n-4&v=coSt5HWRvv4  ...

Nobsound NS-08E vs Zhilai D1 (Chinese Ebay unit)?

after watching this I'm considering scrapping both: https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_369287791&feature=iv&src_vid=9RhD-NO0n-4&v=coSt5HWRvv4   Basically, the tubes aren't used for amplification, but as a buffer.  It might be good to include this information in the...

Nobsound NS-08E vs Zhilai D1 (Chinese Ebay unit)?

I know it's probably a longshot that anyone physically has this unit, but maybe someone with more insight on the components than I have can identify any obvious red flags or pros/cons?   Also, as far as tubes, I'm leaning towards some Amperex 6688-JAN NOS.

Nobsound NS-08E vs Zhilai D1 (Chinese Ebay unit)?

I see a lot of good things written about the NS-08E.  I was poking around ebay and found something similar with a USB DAC built in:http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZHILAI-D1-HIFI-Headphone-Amplifier-USB-Audio-Chip-7022-16bit-24bit-Black-/172367159194?hash=item2821e21f9a:g:XY0AAOSwMVdYFwFs   It uses the...

    "clean power" for usb DAC

Quote: I'm not sure that answers my question.   The question is if the USB device is powered from the receiver it is transmitting audio to, would that be the best possible scenario since any perceived gain from an external power supply would, in theory, be reduced once the audio makes...

    "clean power" for usb DAC

I'm currently using a M-Audio hiface 2 (technically a transport, not a DAC, but same theory) with a custom usb cable that gets power from a battery instead of the PC.  The battery is kind of a hassle, so it got me thinking... what if I just power it from the USB port on the receiver it's...

    USB > SPDIF

I'm currently using a M2tech hiface (original). I just pulled the trigger on a hiface two, but i'm having second thoughts after reading up on the Musical Fidelity V-Link 192.   Are they comparable? If all things are equal, the hiface is a better choice for me as I already have a DIY cable in...

odd... I have it working fine with ASIO in Windows Server 2008 R2 x64.   I used the Win7 SP1 x64 driver and used Orca MSI editor to remove the OS check.  Works like a charm.   24/96 or 16, 24 / 44.1   Since I already have it, i was hoping to mod it (makes for a fun project to learn with)...

I think I first need to a little lesson in electrical engineering to understand what I would be reading and to fully comprehend schematics.   When you say datasheet... where do you find that exactly? Quote:
