The IEM/Portable Headphones Deal Alerts Thread - Closed! Use the Deals Thread III instead.
Quote: They go for as cheap as $5 plus another $5 for shipping if you're patient and wait for the deals to come through places like Amazon I've purchased a number of sets to give away as they are pretty nice. Soooooo they are not fakes BTW. However, that being said, I thought the Philip...- jlopes89

Samsung Galaxy S Sound Quality
It blows away most anything I've compared to, much better than an ipod, imho. Two apps to look for - neutron and google's new audio app. I assume you already have the newest Voodoo app. If you root your Samsung (which you must for voodoo) and use one of the mods (I use cyanogen), the batttery...- jlopes89

Samsung Galaxy S and video
Quote: Definite nowhere near the 7hr mark or even half that time IMO. If you have purchased yours alreay, have you had a chance to look into Voodoo Control Plus and Wolfson WM-8994 codec? I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone (Fascinate) loaded with Android 2.21, phone is rooted, with...- jlopes89

Samsung Galaxy S Sound Quality
Look more into Voodoo Control Plus and the Wolfson WM-8994 codec? I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone (Fascinate) loaded with Android 2.21, phone is rooted, with Voodoo Control Plus and Neutron Audio player. The Voodoo app has a headphone boost, negating the need for an external amp. Works...- jlopes89

Which Smartphone has great sound quality? Moto Droid, Nexus 1, HTC Desire
BTW, our BJ Wholesale stores in CT (probably elsewhere as well) have a buy one get one free deal on the "old" Samsung Fascinate in July. One heck of a deal on a hand-held computer that can play awesome music, aside from answering your calls.- jlopes89

Which Smartphone has great sound quality? Moto Droid, Nexus 1, HTC Desire

Needing a new portable source.
If you can get your hands on a droid phone, you have the makings of a superior mp3 player as the thing is essentially a hand-held computer. I have a droid phone loaded with Voodoo Control and the Neutron Audio player. Provides unbelievable sound quality and no amp needed as the Voodoo app has a...- jlopes89

Help with finding a good MP3
If you use a droid-type phone, that has the makings of a really good mp3 player. I was going the Cowon route until I upgraded my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S type phone. I discovered that by installing Voodoo sound control and Neutron player, the sound quality is unbelievable, with no amping...- jlopes89

Got problem with my Sunrise Xcape. Seeking for help.
The case or shell of my x-cape came apart a while back when I was removing the entire piece from my ear, exposing the inside. From what I could remember, there is this tiny speaker with two thin wires soldered to it and luckily I did not damage them and needed to close the shell snugly and be...- jlopes89

Review by 'jlopes89' on item 'Shure SE210 Sound Isolating Earphones (White)'
Though expensive, the more I listen to them, the more I like them. Many have complained about the "lame" bass but this can be improved by finding a good fitting ear tip piece and then the bass emerges very nicely. I use these with the microphone attachment from my 102s and they work well as both...- jlopes89

Review by 'jlopes89' on item 'Sw-Xcape'
Impressed with the sound overall, balanced throughout the frequency range (bass is tight, medium to high frequencies not bad but I still think my Shures are better in the mid to high). That being said, the build is very worrisome - the right shell came apart exposing the tiny speaker and had to...- jlopes89

Review by 'jlopes89' on item 'Beats by Dr. Dre Tour In-Ear Headphones'
Bought these to compare with my other IEMs. I have found that one can modify the bass content by changing the tips and I got them to he point where it was less bass but the high freqency performance is somewhat poor considering the price one pays for these. looking to trade now.- jlopes89
