Klipsch - Reference R6i II Wired In-Ear Headphones on clearance at Best Buy

I thought there would be a lot more interest in this than there seems to be. Oh well, I guess time has passed me by.

Best Metalcore/Deathcore/Post Hardcore Albums for Audiophiles

i just recently got into the band Thy Art Is Murder. For my money they're the best deathcore band around, since the breakdowns are flavoring and not the whole meal with them. They have a truly meanacing sound.

Is anybody still selling new pressings of old vinyl recordings?

There are some new small labels that are dedicated to reissuing previously released recording on vinyl, but the only one I am familiar with is Superior Viaduct, and they focus mostly on Los Angeles underground music.  However, they recently released for the first time ever the actual soundtrack...

Best Metalcore/Deathcore/Post Hardcore Albums for Audiophiles

As far as metalcore goes, most people agree that Botch's We Are The Romans is one of the cornerstones of the genre.  I'm not much for the genre, but that recording is stellar.  It's an ideal blend between complex musicianship and raw, abrasive heavy metal, with just a hint of groove to it.  Even...

An epiphany about the Beyerdynamic DT-770 80ohm

I just took my DT-770's offshore with me for only the second time, as I wanted to keep them at home as "good" full-size headphones.  My Etymotic ER-6i's had been out of commission for awhile until I got a colleague at work to solder on a new minijack.  Trouble is, when the jack is turned a...

Sony MDR-7506 vs. Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. Which is the better headphone?

The HD380 is an altogether different beast from the HD280, they really can't be compared.  HD380 has much more of the signature laid back Sennheiser sound, Owning the HD580, I would say if you were looking for the HD580/600/650 in a closed can, the HD380 would be the way to go.   Recalling...

What does he mean by brick wall, high end and all?

I can only guess about the first part, maybe it means that their sound was heavier than Metallica's so they thought the sound guy might try to compromise their sound.   A "rider" is a contract that a band's management makes with a venue that lays out what the band wants for the show.  Certain...

Review by 'Jeff Guidry' on item 'Ultimate Ears 5 Pro Earphones (White)'

I don't quite understand the desire of some IEM manufacturers to use loops over the ears as a support mechanism for bulky IEM's, they do not and IMO cannot actually rest on the tops of the ears, and all tension from the cord is still borne almost solely by the insertion into the ear canal.  ...

The art museum analogy is a bad one...since the art does not produce its own light (in most cases), it only reflects the sunlight or artificial light. Would you not wear sunshades if it is bright out? At the very least you would squint your eyes when it was too bright, no?

April 17th is Record Store Day!!!

Sorry, but I really don't care for the hype. Re-releases of stuff everybody already has and 7" vinyl with songs not good enough to put on a full CD or record? Pass. I don't collect for the sake of collecting.

Check this out - TWO "immaculate" Orpheus Headphones plus ONE HEV-90 up for sale

Hm. For an extraordinarily scarce headphone/amp, and widely considered to be the finest every made, you could certainly find some engineer geek who would love to have it. Instead of getting that Harley, they could get this...
