    M40x? M50x refurbished? Something else?

So a few years ago I bought my first high-end headphones, the V-Moda M-80s which have been my lovely babies for a while now and I wouldn't trade them for the world. However, lately I've been wanting some over-ears to use at home. My friend let me try out his Audio Technica ath-M50x pair and I...

Audio Technica ATH-M40x: The Little Brother that Could

I'm cool with the long cable, at least to start with as I'm going to be doing most of my listening at home, but comfort would be nice. I was looking through the thread and it seems the most recommended pads are the ones you mentioned, the Brainwavz hybrids, and the sound professionals... what...

Audio Technica ATH-M40x: The Little Brother that Could

This thread has convinced me I want a pair of these. I was saving for the 50x but, honestly, this fits my low-budget life way better and seems like a super solid headphone

    Over-Ear Phones for <$200

I've put some thought into it and based on the responses I've had so far I think my game-plan is that, all prices remaining the same, depending on how much I can set aside by May, I will buy either the Urbanites or the Momentums (since right now the Momentums are $100 more than the Urbanites...

    Over-Ear Phones for <$200

Thinking I might add the original Momentums to the consideration list. I have small ears (its actually a physical feature I've been teased about, weirdly enough), so I'm not super worried about the ear-cups not fitting and they've consistently been going for <$200 since the 2.0 edition came out...

    Over-Ear Phones for <$200

See, I won't be able to buy until May, so I realize prices can fluctuate between now and then. This is going to be my "congrats you passed the semester and applied to graduate school so stop stressing" gift to myself.    I guess I am definitely taking the M50s off my list. I am not about...

    Over-Ear Phones for <$200

I'm pretty married to closed phones for now, as 3/4 of my listening is done in the campus library while gaming or working.   The urbanite XLs are on amazon for like $99 right now, is there a reason for that?

    Over-Ear Phones for <$200

Also I know the ATH M50x's are highly reviewed - I was considering them but wondered if they might be too "flat" or "neutral" for my tastes.

    Over-Ear Phones for <$200

A little over a year ago I discovered Head-fi. You folks helped me decide on my first pair of quality headphones (V-Moda M80s) and I love them. They and my little rockboxed Sansa Clip+ have served me well over the last year. So, honestly, thank you for that. I've been a lurker around here ever...

    Over-Ear Upgrade? Side-grade? New Headphones.

Does anyone else have input? Or should I let this thread die?

    Over-Ear Upgrade? Side-grade? New Headphones.

Ah yes, I should have mentioned I dont have an amp. I'm running straight out of a rockboxed sansa clip+ and/or my laptop.

    Over-Ear Upgrade? Side-grade? New Headphones.

So I've had my V-Moda M80s for about two weeks now and I've definitely caught the audiophile bug. They sound great and they're super portable. However, now that I have a good pair of on-ear headphones, I'd kind of like to save up for a decent set of over-ears to use at home. My budget would be...

Is On Ear market dying ?

I still use on-ears. IEMs are just too easy for me to misplace or accidentally put through the wash in my pockets or something. I feel like for most people that isn't an issue, though.

    V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews

So, I got the m-80s as my first high quality headphones as a belated Christmas gift to myself. I've had them for a few days now, and I've probably spent 15 hours listening to them, maybe 20. I'm not an expert, but I was asked to post my impressions so I will.   First of all, they look really...

    V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews

When I asked the same kind of question I was told there really isn't enough of an audible difference to justify paying more for the XS. I mean, I guess if you have that kind of cash just lying around anyways, do it, but I don't see the point in having both.
