Antique Sound Lab MG Head OTL - HD650's
I have one of these old ASL MG Head OTL head amps made by Joseph Lau before he stopped making audio electronics. It is still my favorite headphone amp and I'm wondering how this compares to other products available today.- Jbucla2005

Hagerman Baritone Tube Buffer
I find this device makes my solid state setup listenable. It's got a great tube sound. Right now I'm using an RCA cleartop 12AU7 but my favorite is probably the Tung Sol 12AU7W re-issue.- Jbucla2005

DAC filters?
roll off, fast or slow? minimum or linear phase? I'm trying to figure out what works for me. My Dac (SMSL DO100) has 7 filter settings. Right now I'm trying minimum phase slow roll off. Before that I was using linear phase fast roll off, but I'm trying to get a less fatiguing sound.- Jbucla2005

MHDT Labs: R-2R NOS Tube DACs
I'm using the Philips ECG JAN now in my Havana. I'm gravitating towards using this tube all the time because it livens things up. With my setup I need my Havana to sound brighter, more along the lines of a typical DAC. The sound still has warmth and body, imo. Also I put the AD 1856 DAC chips...- Jbucla2005

It’s so good I could sell my Bifrost 2/64 and buy 8 of those! Seriously. I just don’t know how well the USB works yet.- Jbucla2005

Need recommendations for a desktop DAC with USB input
The SMSL SU-1 sounds leaner and more neutral than the FiiO K7, so I'm keeping it and returning the FiiO (since I don't like the bass boost and don't need a headphone jack.)- Jbucla2005

No, haven't tried that one yet, but for now I'm avoiding SABRE Dacs.- Jbucla2005
