The Tenso experience was excellent, they were super quick - the package was in Australia in 24 hours! Australia post took another 3! days to get them to me. As for the A900X. I'll write a brief newby's review shortly. I like them. A lot.

Wow! on Amazon japan, the A900X is just a bit pricier than the AD900X! 130 Yen more.   Weird...now the decision is made even trickier...   May I ask, how did you translate the pages so you know what you're doing?   Thanks again. Mark   EDIT: sorted out translation issues...

this is a helluva thread!! Awesome! Thanks to everyone.   So....   A900x or AD900x for another 100AUD?   I've never owned open headphones and this'll be my 1st foray into hi quality headphones.   At this point I don't own a dedicated headphone amp, although, I've got plans to...

    Recommendations please

Hi MalVeauX, thanks for the detailed reply - much appreciated. Nothing rude written so no offense taken.   5Hz - I take your point on the ear/brain ability to detect frequency this low. I'd seen the specs on cans like the SRH940 and others and decided that I wanted to get the most...

    Recommendations please

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new set of full size phones.   I've read all about and sort of fallen in love with the Shure SRH940 but think the romance is doomed failure if the plastic cracks up - that would completely piss me off after spending the dollars on them!   So, it...

    iMac onboard DAC vs. external?

Thanks bigshot! I've re-read the thread and now have a much better understanding of the reasons for your answer! Do you have any info on which would be a better way of connecting the iMac to the AV receiver? I use the optical cable now but wonder if a the 3.5mm jack to RCA would be a...

What the hell is contolling music output on my laptop!

OK...   I've got a 15 month old HP Pavilion dv7 which comes with come kind of 'beats' EQ system, then there's the EQ system in iTunes and lastly, if you dig deep enough there are tone controls in the codec information boxes.   I've tried different things, turning iTunes EQ off and...

    iMac onboard DAC vs. external?

Hi, I'm coming a few months late to this thread I know but hope someone will see the questions.   Did you find a way to get pure DAC signal out of the iMac to the amp?   I've been using an optical cable from the output jack on the back of the iMac but find that the volume can still be...

Do headphones that boast freq response down to 5hz really deliver this?

Hi, I am new on the forum and would really appreciate some info on headphones that claim to deliver bass down to 5hz. Ariel7's tank range have this on the spec sheet but I've not found any reviews yet that verify this. I know the brain isn't supposed to be able to process such low frequencies...

Review by 'iEar' on item 'Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System'

I got these in 2006 for $460 in Australia.   The main reason for purchasing was to watch movies and play music from an iMac. We ran an Optical cable to the receiver/controller for 99.9% of the signal inputs. They've sat in our lounge/dining space (4m x 8m) and absolutely rocked the place for...
