You get a lifetime warranty if you buy from a verified dealer, so you really don't have to worry.  

750djs don't have very good build quality, and creak when in use. They sound okay but not worth their price IMO.  

Do you open them up by just taking off the pads, then under the felt there's screws? Edit: Not going to do it now, just for future reference.
