Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
Alright guys I need your help. So I have a crazy static that comes from my Aune t1. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it drives me crazy. I have tried different headphones, different USB ports and nothing. Touching the casing of the aune or my headphone wires either makes it go...- hafilaphagus

Closed Headphones below $200
OH the dt-770 pro 250ohm are also an option. Stole this from Zombie_X mini review of the 770's. This Ohm version is good improvement over the 320hm version. It has improved dynamics and transients are pretty good. The bass while, tight and controlled is kind of slow sounding. The bass seems to...- hafilaphagus

A couple questions about Beyerdynamics
http://www.head-fi.org/t/513393/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more This thread will contain the answers to some of your questions. 1. I personally feel like open phones is better for gaming. They're usually crisper than closed headphones and the ability to have your ears...- hafilaphagus

Closed Headphones below $200
+1 for the AKG-272. My friend had a pair and they were great headphones. Very comfortable and the sound stage was great. Bass was very clear, but not overbearing.- hafilaphagus

Is it just me or the SteelSeries Siebra V2 are PRETTY good?
While the Siberia v2 are good headphones no WAY are they better than anything else under 100. There are so many cans that are better at that price point. BUT I will give them the fact that they are one of the better sounding gaming headphones with attached microphone. They are also SUPER...- hafilaphagus

Beyerdynamic DT990 (ver.2005) Impressions Thread
So after a two months of using the DT 990 pro 250ohms I must say I am amazed. These headphones are so freaking comfortable. I can wear them for 6-8 hours and they cause no discomfort. The sound quality is great when stacked with the magni+modi. I don't think I will need to upgrade anytime soon.- hafilaphagus

headphones for a noob under 200$
if you're worried about portability along with using it at home with a desktop I would suggest a Fiio stack. E09k+E07k. If not worried about using with computer the fiio e06 is great, the e09k is amazing. I'm sure the e09 non-k version would work great too.- hafilaphagus

Headphones for: wide variety of use, comfort, stock performance
Like previously mentioned the DT770s are amazingly comfortable. I have worn a pair for like 8 hours in one sitting and didn't even feel them on my head after a while. My ears didn't get hot or they didn't have any pressure on my head. It was fantastic. Great sound quality too.- hafilaphagus

Most Comfortable full sized Headphones
I would have to say DT 990 pro 250 ohms. So comfortable. The HD 598s are a close second with the HD 650s being the third. However, you can not go wrong with any of these headphones. I feel like most of the ones mentioned in this thread are fantastic in both the quality and comfort division.- hafilaphagus

Beyerdynamic DT990 (ver.2005) Impressions Thread
I will give it a shot to try out the Valhalla. I believe my friend has the Lyr so i will try that one out too. I went with the Fiio e09k+Fiio e07k. I am thinking about trying to trade them if possible for something else. We shall see.- hafilaphagus

Fiio E07k+E09k vs Schiit Magni+Modi
Alright so both are in my price range of ~200 USD. I am going to pair them with my Beyerdynamic DT 990's 250ohms. I have no other audio gear right now besides my headphones. Music Preferences from most listened to least: Electronic Classical Jazz Rock Rap. I'm a huge bass...- hafilaphagus

200 Dollar budget. Need DAC+AMP for Beyer 990 250ohm.
I would like to have a desktop amp if possible. I don't need a portable one because these phones will be used exclusively with my desktop. The more I read the more I feel like the Magni+Modi stack is the way to go.- hafilaphagus

200 Dollar budget. Need DAC+AMP for Beyer 990 250ohm.
I would like to keep it under 200, but my budget can be stretched just a bit though (50-75 USD). I would like to get something that will power my phones and will provide me with clean audio and get the most out of my headphones. I DO NOT have any sort of sound card or audio gear besides my...- hafilaphagus

Beyerdynamic DT990 (ver.2005) Impressions Thread
Ok so I ordered a Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Open Studio Headphones 250 Ohms today, but I have no other audio gear. I don't know what is needed to drive these headsets. I don't have an audio card/amp, basically nothing beside the phones. I have a 200 dollar budget and was curious what would be the...- hafilaphagus
