Tell me about those USB-C DAC dongles...

Hi all, Haven't been to HeadFi for quite a while, nice to meet you again :). Recently I became interested in portable USB-C audio, particularly in those ugly(well...) dongles that provide a 3.5mm jack. To start with, I thought of them as passive adapters: somehow the idea of a DAC, amp, and...

Myst 1794 different opa amp trying.

Is that a PCM1794 ? Opamps must be stable at unity gain for I/V, that's all. I'm using LM4562 as I/V and output filter with great results.

    Post pics of your builds....

Quote: It sounds much better than my AP2496.The dynamics and details are incredible. On measurements it repeats AP2496's baseline, which isn't much, but confirms a steady build. The implementations is as datasheet - only the gain is a bit lower(1.7V at 0dB),and opamps are LME49720. And...

Any "drop in" solutions for asynchronous USB?

Quote: I can confirm it's working all right.I'm now using it with PCM1793,it outputs up to 24/192 with no problems.

    High quality schematic drawing software

Thanks, that's nice.It looks too analytical though,I need something that will look good on paper, may be I'll be stripping some stuff in the preferences menu. After checking a dozen of apps,I realized there's a lot of useless buggy software over the net. Digi-Key's Sheme-it:     So...

    High quality schematic drawing software

Hello guys, What software do you use for drawing neat,clean,good-for-publishing schematics?I mean schematics for textbooks and websites.I know I should get drawing packages for LATEX,but I'm sure there's something simpler out there. I tried several drawing applications - Xcircuit,Fluid...

Any "drop in" solutions for asynchronous USB?

So I ordered this :   http://www.ebay.com/itm/XMOS-384kHz-high-quality-USB-to-I2S-PCB-with-ultralow-noise-6-5uV-regulator-/230961204617?pt=US_Amplifier_Parts_Components&hash=item35c65c4d89   Any thoughts on it?Looks promising.I plan to use it with PCM1793 or whatever.

    The Opamp thread

I just received AD8599 from Analog Devices. With my(now past) favorite OPA1612,I was really sceptical about this opamp, even lazy to place in adapter and try. I have to admit,I've never been so wrong.AD8599 is not the killer of details or clarity, but it sounds so lively and just right,it's...

Distortion of Greg Szekeres' Headphone Driver

You can use LM317 for CCS,it will somewhat improve performance and efficiency...150-200 mA should be fine.Overall you can expect 0.5-1% THD in real life,it sounds warm, and it requires some driving. The MOSFET input capacitance is not to be neglected if you don't want high frequency roll-off.You...

    The Opamp thread

OPA1612 is my recommendation for @joyman.No adapters needed, since it's dual.

Anyone tried the miniSTREAMER ?It features the Tenor TE7022.   http://www.minidsp.com/products/usb-audio-interface/ministreamer

    Some LME49600 implementations

Hello guys, check this out.2 buffers per channel in parallel and lots of filtering. It outs 2 watts without effort.Zero mV offset.         Also 0.03 ohm output resistance!

    The BUF634 amp.

OK,I've tried with LME49990,LM4562,OPA1612 and OPA2132.On two different boards. Less than 0.1 mV every time at gain of 3.   Quote:
