Brief Odac impressions
It is completely normal. Happens to mine when connected to a desktop PC too. Not when using it with my laptop though.- Funky-kun

Brief Odac impressions
If possible try it on another computer to see if the problem is the ODAC itself. Also, try using it with any USB hub you have lying around and see if it helps. A generic $5 hub helped me resolve my issue (3 posts up).- Funky-kun

Brief Odac impressions
In light of the recent discussion of hardware vs. software volume control I tried testing whether I can hear the difference or not. So I set the volume from my laptop to a minimal level and maxed my amp... It sounded pretty much the same (might be the fact that I used foobar's volume control...- Funky-kun

Brief Odac impressions
Using foobar2000, when trying to output 88.2 khz files through WASAPI you get: Under Direct Sound it plays fine, the OS taking care of the resampling, as set in the control panel. I personally avoid the issue by resampling only the unsupported sample rates with SoX to 44.1.- Funky-kun

Strange Foobar volume problem
Managed to isolate an occurrence of this, at last! Replaygain mode: prevent clipping according to peak Source: track Output: WASAPI (event): ODAC Buffer: 1000 ms Same DSP chain as in first post. Playback order: random When "KMFDM - Megalomanic.flac" ended, the next track...- Funky-kun

Strange Foobar volume problem
It happens only with foobar2000. Currently with latest version. It certainly has happened with flac files, not too sure about mp3s, as they are a small part of my library, and it happens randomly. It also only occurs when a track ends and another one starts at random, and never when I...- Funky-kun

OP amps for Xonar STX and HD 650
Ohm setting only affects gain, so use whichever gives you comfortable range on the volume control. I believe I used the middle one. Quote: Originally Posted by Funky-kun Talking about opamps, I think I've ended my quest for the perfect ones. Here are my impressions. All...- Funky-kun

Behringer UCA202 / foobar2000 question
Seem that outputting with ASIO4ALL removes the problem. I still find it strange. KS, ASIO and WASAPI are not supposed to share a driver, are they? Anyone have any idea how to reset these driver values to default? EDIT: Actually outputting through Behringer's ASIO driver also solves...- Funky-kun

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
I tested and I have no problem playing 88.2 khz audio with foobar using ASIO and the new drivers. Test track for reference: http://www.mastersfromtheirday.com/episode-2-annie-and-the-beekeepers-pie-studios/- Funky-kun

Foobar DSP: Advanced Limiter
I prefer listening without matched levels, so I'll stick to the advanced limiter. It seems like a pretty nifty plugin. Thanks to everyone who helped me.- Funky-kun

Foobar DSP: Advanced Limiter
My music collection consists of both lossless and lossy audio. For output I use bit-perfect ASIO. Some of the lossy files have clipping I would like to avoid without introducing any changes to the lossless files, therefore no hard limiter or replay gain. If I use the advanced limiter DSP, will...- Funky-kun
