DAC for Audeze LCD2 + Lyr2
No, I can't go optically from the computer. Is it a big leap going from modi uber to bitfrost? 4490 is the original one. Any reason looking at bitfrost version? Can't tell by only looking at their homepage but doesn't seems like the version for me =)- Fiskus

DAC for Audeze LCD2 + Lyr2
Hi all, I'm currently looking for a new DAC to go with LCD2(main) /HD650 + Schiit Lyr2. Before i was using a Asus exonar stx together with burson audio V5 but the card broke a couple of weeks ago. Was happy with the "darker" soundstage compared to the Odac I'm using now. Any suggestions? Kind...- Fiskus

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Any recommendation on Opamps for HD800? Will probably replace the soundcard with a dedicated dac in the future but for now i will use my stx-card and whould be nice if there was a better one suited instead of the stock.- Fiskus

What tubes whould you recommend for HD800? Usually i listen to rock/pop but also 70/80s from time to time. Im new to tuberolling so still using stock tubes. Whould like to be able to lower the high pitch tremble somewhat and maybe increase the "bass if thats an option. All recommendations are...- Fiskus

New DAC or tube-rolling?
I'm going to look into the Unified Xonar Driver. Have read some about replacing the op-amps on STX. Do you think that is enough? This is maybe bulls*it but I read somewhere on Head Fi that replacing the amps will only help you a thiny bit with HD800 and that the STX will still hold you back...- Fiskus

New DAC or tube-rolling?
Hi Head-fi:ers, A while back I came across a pair of Sennheiser hd800s. Before them, i used HD650 with lyr 2 + Asus essential STX combo. As this is still a jorney for me I'm at a cross-road. I'm thinking of either upgrade to a diffrent (external DAC) and have been looking at Schiit bitfrost...- Fiskus

Amp & Dac for Grado rs1i and Sennheiser HD650
Been looking some more at the Lyr 2 you guys recommended. It really seems to have potential. Just a fast and maybe silly question, there won't be any problems driving the Grados (with there low impedance of 32 ohm?)? Like unwanted background noice or something like that. Also, they will not take...- Fiskus

Hi Head-Fi'ers! I am currently looking for a new amp / dac-setup for my headphones. Until now i have used o2 + odac and have been pleased. Whould like to try something new tho with a little more "punch" to it. I'm going to use the dac / amp for Grado rs1i (main-headphone) and Sennheiser...- Fiskus

Sennheiser HD650 + what equipment (DAC / DUC / Soundcard)
Hi all! I'm planning on getting a pair of Sennheiser HD650 to run on my computer. I have had a pair of HD555 for several years and lately been thinking that now is the time to upgrade. Today i'm running my headphones directly via the motherboard, (shame on me) For the HD650 i'm...- Fiskus
