HD600 + Schiit Vali
Tremendously. I know the Vali is only a hybrid and not as tube-y as real tubes, but I love it. It's warmer and seems to have more texture or character than my Asgard or E17. And the HD600 sounds glorious on it. In fact, it has been my preferred listening combination since acquiring it. The...- FatBox360

First DIY cable project for Hifiman HE-400
Thank you for this. You make it look so simple I have to try now. My stock HE-400 cables are finally giving me enough grief that I'm looking to replace.- FatBox360

Shure SRH1540 Review
Oh yeah - it sounds good on all the stuff I've tried so far, Vali included. I think it sounds better on Asgard, and I'm wondering if that's just hybrid-tube vs. solid state. Likewise, I prefer the Senns on the Vali to the Asgard, but they sound wonderful on everything that I've tried (which...- FatBox360

Shure SRH1540 Review
I get a hiss with my SRH1540 on my Vali but nothing on my Asgard or Fiio E17. No hiss with my HD-600 on the Vali and it sounds sublime.- FatBox360

What are the most comfortable headphones regardless of price and sound quality?
Casting my vote for the SRH1540, too. I've had them for a little while now and they are just SUPER comfortable, good weight, excellent pads (though I'm going to get some Alpha pads to try with these), and the clamping force is near perfect.- FatBox360

Shure SRH1540 Review
Was digging through the post and have a question about your experience with the SRH1540 and the Vali. Do you find there to be some hiss/noise when you plug in, have the volume at listening level, but no music going?- FatBox360

SRH1540 hiss on Vali
Question: What accounts more for the hiss with the SRH1540 and Vali; the impedance or the efficiency? Why don't the HE-400s hiss on the Vali? Scenario: The HiFiMan and Senns plug in to the Vali and I get no hiss (noise floor?). Plugging the Shures in and I hear a very audible hissing. No...- FatBox360
