OK quick summary - my usual setup until recently is:   iPod 5.5G iMod by Red Wine Audio Graham Slee Voyager Portable Amp Apple Lossless Files predominantly - though some are at 380 kb/s. Apple iTunes (but not iTunes Music Streaming) Denon AH-D2000 over ears Sony MDR-NC500D noise...

Having connection issues with Onkyo DAC-HA200.

Not sure if I can help or if this is still relevant... since you posted this so long ago..  Your first setup was correct - you just need to make sure the switch at the back is in the right hand position and it SHOULD work. I have mine working on an old Android tablet (unbranded chinese thing)...

Review by 'Farmer Giles' on item 'Sony MDR-NC500D Digital Noise Canceling Headphone (Black)'

I posted this as a long answer to the other review, but felt that I would post it as a review here too.... I bought a pair of the Sony NC500D headphones in Tokyo in 2009 - simply because they were the only ones that were using digital noise cancellation, and when trying them in a busy and noisy...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

Been a while since I've checked in on here - so only just read your post from December.. Michal, I think it's clear from all the feedback on here and in my humble opinion - that the D-2000's do need driving by an amp to get the best from them. I almost never use them without them either being...

I bought a pair of the Sony NC500D headphones in Tokyo in 2009 - simply because they were the only ones that were using digital noise cancellation, and when trying them in a busy and noisy Tokyo electronic store, they really stood out as being uncannily quiet. Frankly the NC circuit blew me...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

hmm, would probably agree with that last post by rpgwizard. No such issues with the D2000's though. Just had an evening watching TV, and settled down a few mins ago in front of the fire - glass of port, D2000 headphones on and an end to end run through of Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd. Pure...

Basic but cheap cans that give reasonable sound, but they aren't that comfortable.

    AH-D5000 setup/equalizer

Hi, I wrote on another post on this forum about my D2000s and the benefits of using a Graham Slee Voyager. Transformational. If you can - try one.

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

Can only say the L1 is thinner and lower profile than the L3. I think the L3 sounds better. I have both, but only use the L3 with my cans. The L1 is on a click wheel black and white ipod driving a set of speakers in my workshop through an old Naim Amp and a pair of Heybrook HB3 speakers... Even...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

rainBRO - a good choice well made. The D1100's are an excellent phone, well made and will help you set future priorities for your own listening. On the down side - you have now joined the slippery slope of Head-Fi people, who could be described in some instances as err... obsessive. Soon...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

The E1 works OK with the 2000's - they don't need that much to drive, but I think they do show the inadequacies of what's driving them.. If you've not had decent cans before then go for the 1100's - a good choice in that price bracket, and then in 6 months, you can always sell the combo on to...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

Un amped I'd agree with most, and say that the mid bass of the 1100 is punchier. The depth of the 2000's is greater though - and you do notice when it's not there. Amp it - and the Voyager obviously works here - then the whole experience is of a much better and punchy mid bass and that deep bass...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

Comfort: D2000's slightly better - both excellent though. Have been wearing my 2000's for 7 hours this PM and hardly feel that they've been on.

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

Just for you - have compared the two on the first 60 secs of Norah Jones "Don't know why" plugged straight into the iPod without an Amp. The 1100s are almost on a par with the 2000s. Less deep bass, but a slightly better mid. Highs OK but not as clear as I'm used to. The 2000s still have the...

The Jump from Denon's D1100 to D2000, Worth it?

The previous poster is right in context, the D1100 is more balanced in the mids, but a less punchy and clear bass in my view than the D2000 That with the E1... or un amped. Amp both with the Voyager and the transformation affects both. I can't quote much else - because thats all I've used...
