    Woo WA2 Tube Rolling Recommendations

Ty DG. Which tube should I take first? Which one has more impact on smoothness?

    Woo WA2 Tube Rolling Recommendations

Hey guys, I rolled 2 sylvania 7236 on my WA2 and, while I really appreciate the increased dynamic response and the tighter bass, I miss some smoothness from the stock power tubes (Jan 6080wc), especially on the upper mid frequencies (I feel slightly too much emphasis on t and s) Currently I have...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I'm pretty sensitive to sibilance and I experienced some of it with my HD700s coupled with Asgard, especially on some bright tracks, of recent pop production. Now that I matched my Senn with a warmer amp, the WA2, I do not hear sibilance anymore. In addition my cans have also lost any emphasis...

I've been lucky, or maybe I just bothered Jack with too many emails! :D In the beginning I was leaning toward WA7, for its minimal design, but when I asked Jack for his personal preference in amp matching with Hd700s, he admitted to prefer the warmer sound of WA2. From what I read in this...

After only 10 days from my order, I received my brand new WA2 here, in Italy. First of all, I really cannot say how happy I’m: this gorgeous amp can really make shine my Hd700s and I say this after only few minutes of warm up with stock tubes; I imagine that with burn in and tube rolling, things...

Finally I pulled the trigger: I will be another WA2 proud owner soon enough, doomed to tube rolling forever! Shame on you for yours contagious enthusiasm and especially on Ardilla for this mind poisoning thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/615810/the-beauty-and-the-beast-wa2-vs-wa22. :-))

Exactly for that reason I'm a bit concerned about the HD700s, being 150 ohm...Maybe not problematic at all, but perhaps not optimal... I'm looking for an amp that could warms high and mid-high frequencies: actually I feel them too much thin and metallic with Asgard, especially on pop records.

Hi everyone, I'm planning to buy a WA2 for my HD700s: I'd like to hear from you some impressions about this combo.

From HD 598 to HD 700: worthwhile or not?

Quote:       Vladinecko, I ended up getting them and I think they worth every euro I spent for them (630): they are technically better in every aspect than their little sibling. I keep thinking of the 598s as a terrific bargain: they worth a lot more than their price (I payed them...

    Woo WA2 Tube Rolling Recommendations

Quote: Kinda expensive hobby, but so rewarding! What I like of it is that makes me appreciate details and how they contribute to the beauty of the whole song (or to its ugliness ) .  I don't have a tube amp yet: I'm leaning toward a Wa2, but not so fast, because my wallet is crying atm...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Just joking. I greatly appreciate HD700s, but I can understand they are not suited for all. Never tried HD800s, hope to do soon thanks to a friend: from what I read in this forum, I think they are more refined, more revealing and less forgiving than HD700s (perhaps also less fun?). They have...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Mine was just a consideration in general, not specifically on your post. I'm among those who don't consider Hd 700 harsh: treble is there, I don't deny it, but I never felt it too intrusive. Maybe, on some tracks, cymbals tend to have too much of an evidence, but my ears never bleeded because of...

Harsh for someone, may be clear for others. Veiled for someone, may be smooth for others. No ear is the same, nor the brain is linked to.

    Senn HD 700 warning

If you have the chance to listen to these headphones, be very careful! They can send shivers up and down your spine and give goose bumps all over your body! This has happened to me many times, especially when I throw them some good music:   Porcupine Tree – Blackest Eyes  Frankie Goes to...
