One of the most magical concerts I ever witnessed! The title of his album The Singing Clarinet speaks for itself. drftr- drftr

You're correct, I should 😄 After travelling in Latin America for probably over 5 years in total but without any lesson nor a feeling for languages I can get by but a conversation has to stop after 5 minutes as I'm running out of words. Interestingly my pronounciation apparently is very good but...- drftr

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
The general view is that you're correct. However, when you write "So far nothing eclipses the Ragnars except in bass" you must be talking about bass quantity and definitely not quality, as that is marvelous. drftr- drftr

I was lucky enough to spend close to 1.5 years travelling all over Mexico, a bit helped by the fact that I couldn't go anywhere else during COVID. They were last time I was there. But Tikal, Chichén Itzá, Palenque, Uxmal, and Calakmul are equally astonishing in my book. drftr- drftr

Chichén Itzá is one of the most beautiful pyramid complexes. Its name may not be familiar but most will know the Mexican city of Cancún, and its claim to fame is the rich history on its doorstep. And something with sand and loud Americans 😕 drftr- drftr

Isn't it Kukulkan? Perhaps an error on their end? Kukulkan was a Mayan god represented as a snake if I recall correctly. Seems like a lot of coincidence. Looks beautiful! drftr- drftr

? I don't think @rantng's and my posts were about that. It was about damaged tapes, about the way it F'd up the music, and the way you still expect that to happen in the digital age because you heard that exact distorted passage so often that the crystal clear version can never undo the damaged...- drftr

It literally takes forever to get those familiar passages out of my memory! Last time I listened to such a tape must be like 35 years ago, and whenever I listen to a digital version I still think back when "it" happened. Absurd. drftr- drftr

I had been calling it pre-echo myself without realizing it's a real thing. I must have a dozen recordings where this occurs and always wondered if it had to do with the quality of mastering equipment in 80s or perhaps not being familiar with side effects of trying to be clever. One thing is for...- drftr
