wow this is my identical situation, did you ever find what to upgrade to? what would be considered a solid upgrade from the ad700s along the same lines as the 580?

the mixamp is great for console gaming, I tried it out for music and it wasn't that great although I was comparing it to my ef2 so I guess that's a bit skewed

how does the sound card's dac compare to the cheaper dac's like the nuforce udac2?

I think the intro price doesn't end for a while, I'm in the same boat as you as I just returned the wired version. hoping I made the right choice and the wireless quality gets good reviews. There's some out right now but rather trust actual users

i think the nuforce udac is pretty small

ad700s for comfort for sure, sennheisers are always clamped a bit too tight imo

Kind of off topic but how is our e9/e7 driving your dt990s? do you also use it purely straight plugged into the mixamp also? I can't imagine that powering it enough   Quote:
