    Advice on Two Headsets

Just an update. I went ahead and bought both the HD 558 and the Pro700MKII. I kept going back to the store to try the 558's out until I decided just to buy them and try them out at home in my environment. Love the sound, but unfortunately...I AM gonna need a closed headphone. I may return these...

Quote: What was that? jk   I love my iPhone.     Quote:   That's what I was thinking. I think I'm just gonna go ahead and get the darn E17 already and just try it for myself. Best place to buy it?

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought

Quote: If I can I'd like to have the best sound possible. I realize I don't have the best headphones yet, but if I can get an all-purpose amp/dac I'll be future-proofed.   Maybe the upcoming E19 will work with idevices. Is there any info on this yet?

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought

Quote: Well, that's a bummer. What do you think about the iPhone's DAC? Should I look at getting a portable amp/dac that will support this or is the DAC good enough in the iPhone 5?

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought

Few questions before I pick one of these up. I would appreciate any answers to help me understand what it is I'm buying here.   I'll be using an iPhone 5 and Macbook Pro. Will I be able to use the DAC and amp on both? I read somewhere that the DAC will not work with the iPhone 5 because the...

    Advice on Two Headsets

I liked the sound. Funny thing is, I just tried them today at a local best buy and they seemed to sound better to me than the other headphones on the wall. The Magnolia guy told me it's because the board they use to run the headphones doesn't do them any justice, but the HD558's sounded good...

    Advice on Two Headsets

I'm planning on getting an E17. I do want to get a headphone I can take with me anywhere. Eventually, I'll get one for late night listening in bed...maybe when I graduate. That one will be open.   As for portability, I don't know what it takes to be considered a "portable" headphone, but for...

    Advice on Two Headsets

Man. I really want the isolation. I have 3 kids and they are all at that age where they will not let me have an open pair.   So, if the Q701 is out of the picture what would you say is the next best? I'm hearing a lot about the ATH-M50. Would you say they are better than the list provided...

    Advice on Two Headsets

Ok. I've been rethinking things and I think I am just going to go for one headset. Here's the deal. I have a buddy who can get certain headphones at a discount. I can either get one of these headphones or buy one at full price ($200 max).   Q701 HDJ-2000-K Momentum B&W P5I ATH-A900X...

Audio Technica ATH-PRO700MKII (ATH-PRO700MK2ANV) (ANNIVERSARY) Review – A Monster in Disguise

Call me weird, but I actually like the simplistic style of the regular mk2's. Oh well.   Anyways, I'm in the same predicament as a poster earlier. I'm buying my first good over the ear headphone and I can't decide between the m50's and the 700mk2's. I don't care about the price difference...

    Advice on Two Headsets

btw..I'm asking more about these because I really like these so far.   They look sturdy, has a nice sleek look to them, and the earcups I think are fabric (correct me if I'm wrong). I like that it comes with a case and that they are collapsible. I also like the idea of a detachable cable...
