The Stax thread (New)
Thanks for the wealth of replies, you are a constant source of food for thought. :) Does anyone have experience regarding the fostex T50RP or the Precide Ergo 2? Could either of them work as a 'stat substitute in a pinch? PRaT, speed?- Comfy

The Stax thread (New)
Hello Stax thread. I'm generically an electrostatic lover, and specifically a Stax lover, but I've reached a point in life where my children do the most of cable-pulling in our residence. And on these grounds, dear Stax-sages of old, I turn to you. Are there any simple, dynamic, "normal"...- Comfy

A sincere question (not trolling)
It's only high end as long as it is the best headphone system in your social circle. Once your neighbour/tennis instructor/brother-in-law one ups you, the dream is over.- Comfy

Absolutely no idea what to buy
Buy used gear. That way you'll be able to re-sell the items you don't like or that lack the synergy, without losing the extra amount that comes with new products. Also, the only way to really find out what you like the best is to try out a lot of different products. Most of the time that...- Comfy

Oasis is no more
I think they were the last legendary rock band. And I believe they'll always have a following, among the future youths as well. At times beatleish melodically, they were always quite stonesy regarding all of the rest - and that is something I respect. They had a few beautymarks that others... -

The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society = The Beatles
I've been wondering the same about The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle, which to my ears is better than Pet Sounds. -

Alessandro MS1000 and MS Ultimate - DIY & modding [56K warning]
Thanks for the words of non-encouragement. I guess there is a possibility I'd have regretted it. I'll probably start saving to have both in the future (MS-Ulti while keeping the Stax rig). At least the MS-1000 and the Stax rig are very much complementary, with almost opposite strengths and uses.- Comfy

Any advice / final words of encouragement for someone seriously considering selling his Stax setup (see signature) for the purpose of investing in an "MS-Ultimate" instead?- Comfy
