    weird, unordinary, unique music recommedations?

Tinariwen - Tassili I think is quite different, has a very good feel and is pretty well recorded as well.

Your top five favourite drummers - any genre of music - just name followed by genre of music drummer plays

Dave Lombard - Metal The energy he provides with Slayar is amazing! Also fantastic drummer in generall. I tend to dislike the "trick" drummers who incorporates a bunch of show for the eyes.   Neil Perth is of course one to love aswell, hard to pick others that I feel stand out but then...

    Best "Starter" Headphones? - HiFiMan HE-400 / AKG K712 / Sennheiser HD650 / Sennheiser HD600

When I started Head-fi-ing a couple of years ago I got the Beyerdynamic DT990 pro which I loved all the way untill they broke after about a year. Such a fun headphone which I think resembles the HE400 in soundsignature a bit(Correct me if you feel I am wrong).   Then I got the HD650 which I...

    AURALiC owners unite!

Thanks for the great answers. I suspected it might be a little of all that plays in to that I prefer the TRS over XLR. I only got about 30 hours on it but I suspect I will still prefer the SE when burnt in aswell but you never know. It says 100-500 hours in the manual and it is kind of exciting...

    AURALiC owners unite!

Hello everybody! Recently got myself a Taurus and I am very happy with it so far. My HD650 became a whole other headphone with it and it makes a my LCD-X shine a bit more than with my old Matrix M-stage.   I have some question though. With the LCD-X it seems to sound better when using the...

What is the point of open headphones?

I hope the pain of waiting will be meet with satisfaction when you get them. One of my favourit feelings is when you finally get something you have been waiting for.   Dang, this thread has been mindopening for me. I realised now that another reason for me to get headphones is that feel the...

What is the point of open headphones?

I would say that preventing others from hearing the music is rarely the primary purpose of headphone and since the open design seeme to be the one giving better sound, (based on the frequency on open design for the top of the line headphones and personal taste). Only time when it is usefull is...

Headphones you regretted buying the most

I slightly regret buying hd650 because they are not to versatile ending with me buying supplements since I listen to many different kinds of music. I should definitely gone with something more allround.

Does it get much better than the HD800?

Quote: We have some things in common then, though reading this thread I got a bit intrested in buying a pair of hd800 so I might have to ease up on the food and traveling.

Does it get much better than the HD800?

As far as I am concerned the only thing you need is certains skills and you can live for free in the woods, but I don't think it would be enjoyable for a longer period of time. As a poor person I have to be cheap with everything else in order to afford nice headphones .

Migrating from RS 170 to HD 650

I do not not recommend hd650 with stx. It has the power to make them loud enough, but the sound is kind of empty. After I got the hd650 I bought myself another amp immedeatly.

I really start to appreciate the hd 650 now when I'm stuck with my portable setup for 6 months. Beautiful pictures do not help to ease my longing!
