Fiio E9, enough for the HD 800's?
Just a theoretical question, many people agree that the HD800 deserve better source and amp. And most people also argument this fact by emphasize how expensive the HD800 is, and how cheap the E9 is. If we set aside those monetary terms, what other facts is there? Do not get me wrong, I´m...- Char

Fiio E9, enough for the HD 800's?
Quote: Yeah, sorry for the lack of accuracy in the description above. All the impressions was in relation with the use of HD800. Thus I meant the system (E7+E9) WITH the HD800 is too bright. I guess the fault is really on the headphones themselves and not the E7+E9 :)- Char

Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread
Quote: According to Sennheiser the cable is silver-plated, oxygen free (OFC), copper cable, symmetrical, and Kevlar reinforced. Thus I guess it is made of copper with silver coating?- Char

Fiio E9, enough for the HD 800's?
Hi all! I received the E9 yesterday and thus just got a few hours with it. My first impression with E9+E7 is that the sound is very transparent (no colorization of the sound), but unfortunately also very bright. At least for my preferences, thus this setting was not really for my ears...- Char

Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread
Quote: I just recently acquired HD800, but lack both DAC and amp. Since my wallet is still trying to recover from the purchase of the headphones, I have to choose either one of them. I have almost decided to save up the money for a DA11 and buy an amp at later time. My question is...- Char

The all-time best headphone you've ever owned.
I currently own HD800 and it is astonishing. I don´t have any other headphones to compare it with, except from a Sony MDR-V700DJ, which there is a huge difference in SQ-wise. Besides from classical music, I also find the HD800 to work exceptionally good with movies. Far better than any...- Char

Westone UM3X vs. Earsonics SM3
No...Isolated, I find the UM3X precise and clear. Well that stated from a person with yet untrained ears ;) Relatively to the SM3, it's hard to tell. My hypothesis is that UM3X strives to reproduce the exactly sounds as is from the source. So if the source is precise and clear in the...- Char

Westone UM3X vs. Earsonics SM3
I'm a lucky owner of both the SM3 and UM3X. I consider myself as a beginner, thus I can not like many others here express the differences in technical terms. For me, I think there is no meaning in deciding which one them is "the best". After reading through this thread, I would say I for...- Char

Fiio E9, enough for the HD 800's?
Anyone tried the HD800 + E7 + E9 combo yet? I'm in the process getting the HD800, and also have the E7 already. Wondering to get the E9 as a starter amp for the headphone as well.- Char
