KRK KNS 8402 review
I have 8400s for some years, they let me hear small details very well I know because I play CSGO and this game has footsteps and I can hear the most subtle ones very well and in which direction it's coming from, seems I hear them better than whatever ~$100 pair I had before these (some sort of...- busssy2333

Closed back, Neutral sound, similar to krk kns 8400/8402 but easy repair?
I have krk kns 8400 for some years and they sound great, pick up all small sounds and footsteps needed to hear in a video game so I know they're good, and neutral, and I like them for lots of synthesizers and guitar ran through the computer too. 1 ear stopped working and I managed to resolder...- busssy2333

Do I have to use this stupid same wire for repair?
I ended up using some thin double speaker wire I had on hand, copper stranded type. Works great now! I had another slightly thinner wire that was single stranded and they do say single stranded might be a tad better for audio quality but stranded allows more flexibility which this really needs...- busssy2333

Do I have to use this stupid same wire for repair?
thanks "Use any wire, it will be fine but if there is any movement avoid solid core and use stranded. Use flux and pre tin the wires for proper and easier soldering." "The wire is called "Litz Wire". It is a pain to work with. I have a solder pot and after cleaning the wires I dip them in to...- busssy2333

Do I have to use this stupid same wire for repair?
KRK KNS8400 One earphone broke off. I took it apart ready to repair solder but this wire is a pain to work with. As per youtube tutorials, I burned away the shielding (can't believe this thin, strandy coating actually keeps the2 wires separated) but then to test before soldering I can barely...- busssy2333

Phones silimar to krk kns 8400 & w/ cheaper replacement pads?
for making music with computer software, for listing to synthesizers straight from the phones jack or guitar through audio interface, for hearing subtle details in video games. the KRK 8400s have been great in terms of clarity and unbiased neutral sound spectrum, except that the pads for $35 and...- busssy2333

Phones silimar to krk kns 8400 & w/ cheaper replacement pads?
bump. I remember when I chose these KRKs originally I did the whole internet shopping thing where instead of buying basically whatever's on a store shelf, it turns into days and days and a PHD thesis on the subject... saw lots of youtube videos guys knew certain brand pads fit others so I'm...- busssy2333

Phones silimar to krk kns 8400 & w/ cheaper replacement pads?
I've had these krk kns 8400 for a couple years and they are great. But the pads just both started peeling and now the foam is all the way out and is giving me a bad fit and a headache. I bought replacement pads for $33 which seems a bit of a rip off considering I paid about $120 for these and...- busssy2333

KRK KNS 8400 vs Shure SRH 840??
I voted KNS 8400, you can easily search my other posts and find more info why I chose them over the shure 440s if you're deciding between these two (or these 4 if you count the shure 840 and kns 6400). Actualy, sorry I thought this poll was shure 440 (not 840) vs krk 8400, but I couldn't...- busssy2333

Opinion on the KRK KNS 6400 and 8400?
I recently was between KRK KNS 6400 or 8400 and Shure SRH440. I started from knowing basically nothing about headphone specs and spent many hours learning and to decide. I wanted a very crisp accurate neutral flat sound. Because I want to hear my synthesizers very clear and other hardware...- busssy2333

Neutral for gaming footsteps and synthesizers/production SRH440 SRH840 KNS-8400 KNS-6400

Neutral for gaming footsteps and synthesizers/production SRH440 SRH840 KNS-8400 KNS-6400
Edit yet again: read this which sort of answers the question that this brings up as in, What is the actual sonic advantage of having a high impedance OUTPUT device if it requires special high ohm cans? http://www.head-fi.org/t/571384/low-impedance-vs-high-impedance-huge-difference If you...- busssy2333

Neutral for gaming footsteps and synthesizers/production SRH440 SRH840 KNS-8400 KNS-6400
hopefully my last long post about this.. I want neutral sound because I personally think bass can drown out the sound. I guess I can raise the bass in my EQ if needed, although I was told here you can't basically just take a bass-biased headphone like for example ATH-M50X and lower the bass...- busssy2333
