Headphones good with Lyr and/or Rx MK3-b for J-Pop and instrumentals
Just got the Grado RS-1s. Id like to just THANK YOU A BUNCH for the recommendation. I just received it 3 days ago from mail and I am loving it ^_^. I tired the LCD-2 and the RS-1 at a local shop with the exact same amp/dac setup as the one I have and I do still think I love the sound of that...- Bsun1314

FitEar TO GO! & Universal Series --- Suyama's custom IEM, made universal!
Quote: Totally agree, that is the most gorgeous mini jack I have ever seen (Haven't seen that many though) Burning in the silver cable for the friend at the moment. Can't be more glad that I get to use these for a whole week! A bit off topic, but how do you find a Sony source...- Bsun1314

FitEar TO GO! & Universal Series --- Suyama's custom IEM, made universal!
Had the pleasure to use my friend's TG334 today! It is just AWESOME! Way better than the K3003 for Jpop and heavy metal IMO I also used it with my Rx MK3-b, didn't find much of a difference, in fact, I felt that the right ear was more dominant than the left on the Mk3-b, did anyone...- Bsun1314

Headphones good with Lyr and/or Rx MK3-b for J-Pop and instrumentals
Quote: Don't take me wrong though, I just thought I'd be likely that I could get something with better SQ with a higher budget, I'd go for the LCD-3 or something if I wanted to squeeze the whole budget out of him ^_^- Bsun1314

Headphones good with Lyr and/or Rx MK3-b for J-Pop and instrumentals
Quote: Really? from what I remembered, they sounded horrible without an amp, maybe because it was new. Anyways, thank you SOOO much for your time and help! However I would definitely want something slightly more expensive since I only have a one-time chance to spend the 1500$ on one...- Bsun1314

Headphones good with Lyr and/or Rx MK3-b for J-Pop and instrumentals
Quote: No, I have never tried any of those. Side story: Well, actually, one of my friends bought a RS-1 with a 1.4' to 1/8' adapter and without an amp for his first pair of headphones and that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience^_^- Bsun1314

Headphones good with Lyr and/or Rx MK3-b for J-Pop and instrumentals
Quote: I supposed I would prefer something that I can take on the go if put together with my Rx Mk3-b The ESW9 overheat! lol I am assuming this is unamped because I don't like it with either of my amp. I liked the female vocals and the bass, although I would prefer a...- Bsun1314

Quote: The QC15 really isn't that great of an headphone in it's price range IMO. If you are ok with IEMs, then you might wanna try the Westone UM2(300-$) or Shure SE 425(300-$), actually I don't any of those, but I do have both of their big bros(SE535(400ish) and UM3X(400-$)). The SE535 is...- Bsun1314

Check Out The Head-Fi Summer 2012 Buying Guide!
I found this something really enjoyable to read, but not extremely helpful. hope you could include the genres of music you think the headphones might perform best in. I am only a few months into personal audio and I think this guide is very newbie friendly! Great job! Jude- Bsun1314
