Umm, to each his own I guess but my Grado SR60s pale in comparison to the HTF-600, in every way.  I paid $38 for my Grados but I would still take the HTF-600s over the Grados any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

  I wholeheartedly agree.    I like the EVO so much I just bought another one.  Now I have a black one and a white one.  I honestly think I could sell 90% of the rest of my collection and be perfectly happy from here on out with just my EVOs and my standard HD681.  They are that good.

I only paid $25 for my HD681s. If I can buy the HD685 for $50, I'll take one right now.............

I think your set is defective.  I purchased a used pair a few months ago from a seller on Amazon and had a similar experience.  It was if the midrange was totally missing.  I returned them as defective.  Got another set and all is good now.    Can you return them?

  Just removed the inner felt discs over the drivers on my EVO and I agree.  Sound quality seems to have improved.  I'm liking it so far but it does make the EVO brighter.  May have to EQ the highs down a bit but it definitely helped with the mid bass hump.

Right now, I'm diggin my DT 770s played on PC with Asus Xonar Essence ST sound card.
