I am semi-skeptical in this thing... however, many colleagues of mine like it, although, I'm not positive they know what real Head-Fi sounds like.    What are the drawbacks of this? More feedback, distortion at higher end? Trying to see why something this cheap would deliver a good sound if...

^What he said. Don't do the HD-600 cable since it's twice as much. The stock cable is so cheap it makes me wonder why people don't upgrade it right away.

Is there a count of how many people from Seattle vs. Portland? Is it that expensive to have two separate meets? 

Please toss a few back for me and enjoy the marvelous, glorious, equipment. Out of all the Head-Fi meets I've been to, the SF has been my favorite. 

So bummed that I'm just going to miss this by ONLY 5 days.

Is the price going to change for the US? It was roughly $250-285 depending on exchange rate.

I also particularly preferred these over the L1s and X28s. Not really sure if they were in consensus when the built the L1s; that said, they're still better than a lot of prices in that range. 

Is there an ETA when these are out for the US? I got some imported but sold them eventually...    They are so much better than the rest of the line. 

Thanks... I haven't seen it in person yet so just curious based on the pictures/videos I've seen.

Talking about overall wear, not usage. E.g. Sennheiser HD800s and older Denons were highly prone to paint chipping due to their coating.    I try to take good care of my cans but I also use them in multiple locations so they don't always hold up as well as I intended. 

How does the paint on the hinges hold up given it rotates so much?
