No, the stack does NOT eliminate the need for a powered USB hub (or some sort of "power solution" for the iPhone/iPod). The iPhone/iPod still "thinks" it has to supply USB voltage and therefore needs some sort of power. You will need an Apple Camera adapter with pretty much any Schiit solution...

+1 on the MDR-7506 for studio monitoring. They've been around so long for a reason -- I've had mine since the early 90's. Pretty much anything suggested so far would work for you. Good luck!

Not the most portable, but fits in my headphone case quite easily for deployment at work or home.  The Schiit Fulla 2 is rubber-banded to an Anker 13000mAh portable charger that powers both the Fulla 2 and the iPhone 7, so I can listen to my HD600's all day at work without depleting my phone...

No wall wart is included.  All you need is a phone charger or any other USB power source plugged into the power port.  I use one of those Anker portable battery/chargers when I am away from my computer.    There should be no difference in quality.
