Does the Zen DAC has enough power to properly drive a Beyerdynamic DT880 or 990 250 ohms? These, it seems, are a little difficult to drive, more than, say, an HD600 300 ohms...

This is a bit old... but I'll give it a shot. How do you describe the sound of the AR5BT's? Do they have good punchy bass (I want a "fun" headphone, not a neutral one), good for metal music (thrash metal, death metal, etc.)?

Can the ZEN DAC, unbalanced out, effectively power a 600Ohm headphone, like the beyerdynamic DT880 or DT990 600 Ohm versions?

Hi, I have my fair share of “neutral” headphones and I’m currently looking to get a Beyer, to add to my collection and since I don’t have any from this brand. I’m looking for a “fun” headphone to listen mainly to metal music, with a somewhat boosted bass (but not Beats levels boosted bass!)...

Has anyone bought the Amazon special edition in black? Are they any good/exactly the same as the regular ivory ones?

This didn’t got many replies, and actually I’m also interested in this. Are the Marshall Major III (wired or wireless), with to the Marshall rock pedigree, be a good bet for metal? And the Grado SR60 and Sennheiser HD25 (read somewhere that these will “melt your face” for metal music...)?
