Small update... Turns out the "lackluster bass loudness" I was experiencing might in fact have been a "burn-in" issue. After many more hours of listening, I'm able to listen to bass-heavy music at max volume without much distortion, if any. Note that despite this, the Bathys still comes short...

For posterity I figured I'd share my thoughts after finally buying the Bathys. In short: I love 'em! Sound quality is near perfect to me, got some positive feedback on the mic quality during calls, and battery life is great to boot. Here's some pros and cons, in case someone is debating...

Unfortunately the 5909 are just too expensive for my budget. Depending how long it takes me to make up my mind and how much budget I can clear, I may consider it. That being said, I hear very differing opinions on the 5909 and that would make me that much more nervous to shell out that much...

Thanks! Can't believe I missed it when I did my research. It does cement the Bathys and PX8 as the final showdown (for me), but I'm still unable to confidently choose between the two. Really wish I could find a place that has both on demo.

I did watch many reviews, including most of these; that's how I boiled it down to Bathys vs. PX8. They both appear to do ANC decent enough for my needs, as well as having good enough mics. I'm here to find help deciding which one should sound better to my ears. I know sound quality-wise...

Thanks for the suggestion but I really want headphones that are great on their own. Otherwise I'd probably just go for XM5's for when I need wireless/ANC, and go for regular cans for quality listening. I want one pair that does both great, wherever I am. One question that comes to mind is...
