Free universal equalizer for Windows?
i dont know if it is soundcard specific or not.. but i've got bass and treble tones in the windows mixer (and i havent moved them to note if they work or not). i figure doing a couple clicks might be worth it, and if it isnt there.. then it is because my soundcard has the bass and treble...- anwaypasible

Headphone amp or dedicated sound card?
as a general rule, if the soundcard can output the same voltage as the dedicated headphone amplifier, then the only difference to note is which one sounds better .. or if there is any reason to start looking into the resistance difference of connecting the headphone's with their impedance...- anwaypasible

Deciding on a 2.1 system for my computer.
what you need is a stereo 3.5mm cable with bare wire on the other end. buying a specific cable that already has bare wire might prove to sound a little better than cutting one yourself. but perhaps that is what you implied by not being able to wait. i would imagine some of those...- anwaypasible

New to computer audio...need advice on setting up a system
unless you are making some sort of joke about tossing out everything you've already got because you aren't happy with it.. the needs are pretty simple. a soundcard that sounds good is number 1 and then if the volume isn't loud enough, an amplifier is 2 from there, you need to look at...- anwaypasible

Dolby headphone vs Dolby Home Theater v4 ?
first of all.. you are looking for a dolby signal on youtube when there isn't one. can't figure you've demonstrated each piece of hardware until you use a valid encoded signal. do a search for 'dolby test' and grab the short video that plays a sound from each of the 5.1 speakers. ...- anwaypasible

Earphone adapter makes sound less good?
i hear that you are scared you dont want to ruin the cable on your headphones.. but if you dont place the cord into something like a small plastic box.. then the extension cord is going to be tugging on the end because of the extra weight. i guess what one could do is wrap up the... -
Getting the best out of a soundcard?
i havent heard a difference with those pax drivers.. but i use 'em because windows 7 wont install the thx console for the distance delays for each speaker. the distance delays are really nice.. and they help the sound enough to want it. but for anything else to get the most from the...- anwaypasible

Audio over ethernet
i've heard of other types of software sending audio through the ethernet port.. and really, if any of those were able to be customized to include the packet information the pioneer hardware wants .. the issue would then be stuck at the audio software sending out the audio, because the option is...- anwaypasible

Frequency Range ( 5Hz vs. 15Hz)
the truth is an easy 50|50 answer.. maybe yes, maybe no. there is quite a lot about the audio stopping at 20hz because people dont realize all the layers that make up an audio signal. there are 'moments' in an audio signal that could be lower than 20hz .. sometimes a fraction of 1hz ...- anwaypasible

Help choosing an entry-level office setup
what you should do here then is use some test tones with an equalizer to raise or lower the volume of those tones until they sound the same amount of loud. when you are done, try the headphones again and see if you still want some new ones. if you do still want some new ones.. here is...- anwaypasible

my ears got tired when listening to laptop
the general rule of thumb is to get a calibrated microphone and equalize the speakers to give a flat frequency response .. and if the listening experience remains fatiguing, then new speakers are necessary. but yes, fatigue can also come from the audio file itself when clarity is messed...- anwaypasible

Replacing 2.0 Speakers
speaker buying is basically trial and error. if there is information in the theile small parameters that prove audio quality is there, i dont know about it. i looked at the specifications of the amplifier and it doesnt say if the amp will work with a 4 ohm load .. so with that said...- anwaypasible

Trouble installing dac driver
you need to learn if the file is one that normally comes with the operating system.. or if the file is normally included with the installer, but maybe someone forgot to include the file. because without that information, it makes it impossible to know which half of the equation is to blame.- anwaypasible

Audio over ethernet
pioneer might say something like 'if you can write the software to include the special header.. you've probably already got the setup to find out what information needs to go there' but computer programming from a beginning principle doesnt require the setup to learn the header information...- anwaypasible

I can't make head nor tail of this - Is my problem the computer or the DAC?
it sounds like the circuit is aged. what exactly is unclear.. maybe it is the DAC, maybe it is some capacitors (but could be something else i guess). when you raise the sample rate to 96khz .. there should be more electrical need .. and if that need isnt met, you get the distortion...- anwaypasible
