I think the big takeaway for me is the visceral nature of the bass presentation. It sounds and feels so real and hits like no other headphone I've owned. It's a big massive presentation that just envelopes every sense of your soul! I've owned other ZMF's previously and not really gelled...

I also own this amp paired with the Caldera's although just in stock form for now. In all honesty I don't feel the need to go down the NOS rabbit hole as the sound really is stellar. Don't think this amp gets much exposure so hopefully threads like this will bring it into focus a little more...

Recently picked up the Caldera on eBay and paired them with the Icon Audio HP205D amp with a Ferrum Erco as the source ... Such power, poise and dynamics far exceeding anything I have owned or heard before. End game for sure!

I think ZMF are a brilliant company and have owned, over the years, many of their headphones. Some I have liked more than others but their design philosophy is on another level compared to the competition. I look at phots of the Caldera on this thread and they almost look too good to behold...

I agree with you ... I once owned the Diana V2's with their upgraded cable, which cost over £1k, and there was no difference in sound quality. The upgraded cable was wonderful to behold and touch but offered no sonic improvement. I learned my lesson for sure!

Although mine have started to peal at the back which is disappointing to say the least.

The leather and memory foam is extremely comfy and just melts into the side of your head in my opinion.

Are these still for sale?
