    Icon Audio HP205D

So I’ve been doing some detailed comparisons between the Erco and the 205D, and the standout takeaway from the 205D is just how holographic it sounds. With the Erco, you feel and hear everything sounding so up close and personal, while the 205D, on the other hand, gives a much better sense of...

    Icon Audio HP205D

I think the big takeaway for me is the visceral nature of the bass presentation. It sounds and feels so real and hits like no other headphone I've owned. It's a big massive presentation that just envelopes every sense of your soul! I've owned other ZMF's previously and not really gelled...

    Icon Audio HP205D

I also own this amp paired with the Caldera's although just in stock form for now. In all honesty I don't feel the need to go down the NOS rabbit hole as the sound really is stellar. Don't think this amp gets much exposure so hopefully threads like this will bring it into focus a little more...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

Recently picked up the Caldera on eBay and paired them with the Icon Audio HP205D amp with a Ferrum Erco as the source ... Such power, poise and dynamics far exceeding anything I have owned or heard before. End game for sure!

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I think ZMF are a brilliant company and have owned, over the years, many of their headphones. Some I have liked more than others but their design philosophy is on another level compared to the competition. I look at phots of the Caldera on this thread and they almost look too good to behold...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I agree with you ... I once owned the Diana V2's with their upgraded cable, which cost over £1k, and there was no difference in sound quality. The upgraded cable was wonderful to behold and touch but offered no sonic improvement. I learned my lesson for sure!

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I just sit quietly enjoying the music but there are times when I feel encouraged to impart an opinion. I read various forums, frequently, and sometimes comment when something just doesn't feel right ... People can spend what they want on a system but I think spending money on cables to...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

I disagree ... Unfortunately, and I wish the opposite was true. Auditory memory and being able to distinguish between the differences a cable can make is foolhardy at best unless the differences are massive. The weakest link will always win I'm afraid to say. Its not a bad thing though is...

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!

Do people not realise that the cables that connect the headphone to the driver are the weakest link and that anything that you put it front of this will simply not matter!! ... Honestly, I can appreciate the visual appreciation afforded to high end cables, and the luxury feel, but surely end...

    Fostex TH909 Announcement

Has anyone any experience using ZMF Ori or Universe pads with the 909's? ... Loving the sound of them but find the pads too uncomfortable and prefer real leather vs synthetic. Thanks ...

Although mine have started to peal at the back which is disappointing to say the least.

Earpads for the Hifiman Arya Now Available!

The leather and memory foam is extremely comfy and just melts into the side of your head in my opinion.

Earpads for the Hifiman Arya Now Available!

Purchased the fenestrated pads here in the UK from Electromod and for reference I'm using the Arya Stealth. So impressions: Bass doesn't seem to have taken a hit - I EQ anyway. There is defiantly a sharper tilt to the sound which gives the headphones an edge I think they were lacking. A very...

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Don't find clamping an issue tbh. In fact I'd say one of the most comfortable headphones to wear. How new are the Aeon's? ... Maybe it just needs time to feel comfortable. Have you tried adjusting the rubber sliders on the leather headband?

I would have had that had it been 3.5mm.

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

I don't find the weight too much of a problem and like the look of the Aeon cable so I'll stick with the stock cable. I'm based in the UK and there is a vendor selling his own cable for the Aeon's at £120 which I suppose is decent value all things considered. I've noticed on Ali Express they...

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

That's a good point Grant and when the music is playing you certainly don't notice it. And yes they are excellent performers that is for sure. Best pound for pound I've spent in my headphone journey. Never listened to the Clear's but did own a pair of LCD1's that I just couldn't enjoy for...

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

I find the stock cable a little too microphonic for what is a premium product. Yes there is the better cable you can purchase but I'm sceptical that it would upgrade the SQ.

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Hi all, I don’t normally post online reviews but feel compelled with regards to the Aeon 2C’s. To give a little background my headphone experience has been born from having a family and not being able to enjoy a home stereo system at loud volumes so switched to a headphone based approach...
