Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread
Is it likely that I would get a warmer sound out of my MD3.2 from a Schiit Vali compared to the headphone amp in an Essence STX card? I've been comparing a Fiio E10 and the Essence STX and while the E10 definitely doesn't sound as good it gives the MD3.2 a much warmer sound which I definitely...- Andeby

new akg k323 xs
Just got a pair of these, have to say I'm impressed so far. Only thing I'm a bit worried about I guess would be build quality, they seem sturdy and well-made but they are also tiny so I bet the cables will give out soon enough.- Andeby

Yeah, I've even looked at the E12 myself. Most likely one of the better choices for a portable amp at that price. Let's just leave it at that? :)- Andeby

Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread
My thought process came from recognizing something that has been brought up before, where the conclusion was that Dan personally has said that they power the MD well but has never actually said that he personally thinks they pair well. The qoute posted after confirms that, he says he's heard...- Andeby

I had the DT770, I also love bass. I found the bass in the Mad Dog to impress much more than the DT770. Running them off an Essence STX, slightly EQed. Did yours get enough power?- Andeby

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Just thought I shoud let you know, only have the E10 for a few days so I have to run the Mad Dog trough it. After discovering Linux had suddenly put the volume at 46% I now only need to run it at around 2-3 on volume. It definitely does not sound as good as from an STX though, but at least...- Andeby

No, I mostly run them on my Essence STX. Fiio E10 would be too weak for normal use, considering max volume was needed.- Andeby

With a tiny bit of EQing I'm pretty sure I am getting both more and better bass than from my DT770's, can't stop loving these headphones! :D- Andeby

Definitely got pretty much normal sound level from max volume, but the difference from around 4-5 to 8 was barely anything. I got my E10 used though, could be dodgy. :p- Andeby

Quite tempting to replace the E10 with one. What about an E17?- Andeby

How is that E12 volume-wise? I have an E10 currently and I found the sound to be completely fine, but I have to run the amp at high gain with max volume to get decent volume on the Mad Dog. Is it the same with E12?- Andeby
