Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

From a music listening point of view, has anyone compared the Maxwell to the Audeze LCD-i3 (using the Cipher V2 lightning cable). I know this is an open back IEM, but it’s sound is more inline with a full sized headphone so I feel it is a legitimate comparison. The other planar headphone I own...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Fair points. Let me state first and foremost, I am a big fan of your headphones and brand, I was just taken aback by all the reports of issues here and on Reddit. This headset costs the equivalent of $390 if I convert my local currency to dollars, so I started feeling like perhaps I should hold...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

I feel like this headset was rushed out in a horribly unpolished state. So many people with software and firmware issues. Owners are basically paying to be beta testers. I’ve decided not to buy right now, such a pity as this would’ve been my daily driver for work, music, and occasional Xbox...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

No I’m using the Cipher V2 Cable on my iPhone. It worked well before today’s update. Regarding your statement about not commenting on a potential open back Maxwell - 100% understood. Thanks for your responses.

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Good day @Audeze I’m in South Africa and a local retailer is awaiting stock of the Xbox variant. I have a couple of questions I’d appreciate being answered before I pull the trigger. 1. The software/firmware issues, are we still in a situation where there are issues Headset/Dongle/PC etc...

    Introducing the LCD-i3

Honestly, you will need to add a few DBs to the bass frequencies using the Audeze HQ iOS app to really get that sub bass to come through strong. I added +5db to 32hz, +4db to 64hz, +2db to 125hz, +1db to 250hz. The other frequency ranges were left untouched. I saved this to Preset 1 and left...

    Introducing the LCD-i3

For me, the Cipher V2 cable sounds a LOT better than the BT adapter. So I hardly ever use the BT option... You‘ll spend a few days going back and forth between them but I pretty much guarantee that you will eventually stick with the wired connection and leave it like that. Let me know how you...

    Introducing the LCD-i3

The pins are dainty, but if you’re careful you should be fine. If you are swapping connections often, wear and tear will probably become a problem over time, as with anything.

    Introducing the LCD-i3

General discussion/observations: So a little over two weeks have passed now since receiving my LCDi3s, and I’ve had some time to play around with these headphones. For my ears, I needed to adjust the EQ to boost the bass frequencies a little bit, while leaving the midrange and treble...

    Introducing the LCD-i3

So I tried messing about with EQ and wanted to come up with a Preset that gives bass more presence without messing with the mids and treble, as these are areas that I am already happy with. The screenshot of my EQ attached gives me a nice warm deep bass effect to EDM and Rock music. Any...

    Introducing the LCD-i3

Interesting observation... I initially installed the small sized smooth ear tips. I then swapped them out for the small sized grooved ear tips and felt that the bass was better. Today, I tried the medium grooved ear tips and now everything seems a little bit more vivid - very subtle but...

    Introducing the LCD-i3

Is the Audeze HQ app installed on the 6s? I suspect that the wrong EQ profile some how got loaded onto the Cipher cable? Happened to me when switching to iPad Pro. I installed the Audeze app and hit the “reset” button and the sound came right.
