Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD

Hoping to get some advice on what can be done to fix my M1, as like some other posters have described, my scroll wheel has also broken after not much use.

The wheel itself has actually detached from the body, and as you can see in the photo, there seems to be a plastic sleeve (which holds the wheel in place), that has split in several places. I assume this is from the pressure of the click component of the wheel? The strange part is I've used it no more than a dozen times, and it's never been dropped.

I'm not sure what unscrewing the screw shown will achieve, if anything. Can it be repaired? Happy to send it back to @Shanling if something can be done, as I really like the player and want to try and fix it.

So sad this happened to your M1 :frowning2:

With faults like this, your first step should be contacting the shop you purchased it from, it's firstly their responsibility to cover warranty.

These laws differ slightly around the world, but in most countries, retailer or given distributor is also the one covering warranty of product you purchased from them. One should always try to reach them first before going directly to manufacturer.

Warranty has nothing to do with "Return policy" offered by retailer.

1) Right now M1 only comes with one long USB-C to USB cable, some early packages had little more cables, but we don't offer that anymore.

2) We use phone chargers without any problem, I would recommend some bigger brand, we are happy with chargers from Samsung, Asus, etc

3) Yes, it works with latest creator update Windows 10 without any problems. Thanks to this update, you don't even need to instal our USB drivers anymore.

Transfer songs - Easiest is to copy songs directly on microSD card with card reader. But of course you can connect M1 to PC while card is inserted, that way your card will show up as next drive in your PC:

I'm here for any other questions you might have :)

Our officially recommended value is 5V, 2A, that's what you will also find in M1 user manual.

so the best method is using an adapter which came with 5v 2a rather than with usb port from pc for long term right???

It's our recommended way.
