I've paired the 6xx with quite a few amps. My opinion is synergy is better when matched with a good tube amp. While I haven't heard it but know others who have, and it's pretty highly regarded. The bottlehead crack is probably hard to beat at its price point.

Welp it took about 5 weeks but Sennheiser pulled through and got me a HD 650 cable free of charge.  Great service.

They offered to send out HD650 cables as a quick fix for those who needed a longer cable. This was before they told everyone that they were going to ship us all replacement 6 footers. So I'm not sure if I am still getting the 6 foot cable, but we'll see in due time.

Did it come with the adapter? Sucks if not, that's a great adapter.

But I do have the 1/4" adapter and the apogee groove cable that the 6XX shipped with so it's not a big deal.

I was just answering the question. The stock 650 cable is 1/4" and doesn't include an adapter.
