Due to their similar DAC, I'd like to know please, has anyone done any brief comparison between DP-X1 with Aune M1s? Curious to know their difference in sound :) Thanks

I don't think they will sound alike. The sound is tuned by dac+amp+other+software. Only the dac in common will not do.

I got myself x1a and Tidal is skipping every now and then. Such a disappointment. I have it on my smartphone too, but I thought buy yourself a proper player and it will be gone, but no - same pathetic story again. Anything I can do about it?

It's been discussed many times,. It's the responsibility of the app developer to fix the stuttering issues on Android based DAPS.

Bigger issue, imo, is that none of the streaming apps, have coded their apps to play though the ESS or AK DACs , versus through the stock Android DAC. It doesn't seem like they are evne trying to fix the issue

Agree. I use Apple Music to audition albums and while it sounds okay on the X1A, it should sound excellent.

It isn't pointless, but it isn't great either. One wonders why Onkyo isn't patching this.

It's pretty bad when the V20 allows the user to switch between the stock and high-end DACs. And that's a smartphone whereas the DP-X1 is primarily a player. Last time I'm buying an Android HiFi player without assurance that it does things right.

Looks interesting, but I wonder why the app hasn't been updated in more than 3 years?
I'm not sure why it hasn't been updated, however it works great on my DP-X1 and S6. I just received my DX200 yesterday, so I'm going to figure out how to install it on it also.
Cheers

The skipping is not to bad with DP-X1 but listenable on X5iii. It skips so bad i cant even use it on X5iii.

The skipping given good wifi connection is due to CPU processing power. CPU: dp-x1 > fiio X5 iii > ak 3 series > cayin i5 . The only one can compare to dp-x1 in CPU power is AK SP1000 which said to be 4 times faster than AK380.

I recently got a Samsung 256GB, and whenever I use foobar2000's ftp to transfer flac into this sdcard, it will keep skipping, for 5-10 secs
I am not entirely sure why this happen, but once I restart my X1A, it will not skip~ looks like something similar to Tidal?
