On a mission to like jazz

I've been obsessing over this album recently. The guitar solo by Grant Geissman on the title track is one of the best of all time, imo. The whole album is great with some incredible musicianship. Doesn't seem to have been mentioned in this thread yet and would highly recommend a listen. Getting a HQ copy is worth it, lots of details.

Chuck Mangione was all the Rave in the seventies! Reminds me a lot of my youth (obviously a long time ago).

Just listened to the Lloyd McNeill Quartet's 'Asha'. I didn't find much about Lloyd McNeill and his quartet on the internet, other then that he released another record: 'The Washington Suite'. The two records used to be true collector's items before re-issued recently.

To my surprise my preference is moving from tenor towards the alto. Besides Pepper and McLean I like Konitz, Pepper and Canonball a lot.
Suggestions are welcome :D
