Love Jo Jones...hate it when the tom is hanging like that...looks unprofessional. Admittedly, I do have my own special issues...

Been a little while since Art Blakey popped up on shuffle...

A Night in Tunisia made me turn shuffle off! Just finished listening to Tippin' and Blue Monk...on to Moanin'

Man...think's going to be a Blakey kinda day :L3000:

Last night I listened to Sonny Stitt's 'Sonny Stitt Blows the Blues' and once finished, Roon randomly set me to 'A night in Tunesia'. Haven't heard the CD for a long time, but I was so taken by the intensity of the music that I just had to listen to the entire CD. A feast!

I never heard of Charlie Hunter before seeing this post, and I liked what I heard when I took a listened. Since then, I've imported 3 Charlie Hunter albums from Tidal into my Roon library. Great stuff, thanks!

Charlie Hunter is terrific, and quite an innovator in guitar style.

Monk is a genius, just pulled out 'Monk Big Band and Quartet'. Beautiful, and a surprisingly good recording!
