Just discovered Tom Harrell's 'The Art of Rhythm'. What a wonderful record, with an amazing ensemble of artists. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to it!

An 'Afrobeat' version of some of Art Blakey's classics. Really refreshing! Qobuz streams it at 24 bit/96 kHz! Great sound for a great record!

Tony Allen previous album, film of life is very good.

I have an extensive jazz collection but my latest additions are, Adam Ben Ezra called pindrop and Audrey Ochoa trio called after thought. If one is interested in drummer based jazz may I recomend Manu katche called unstatic. I dabble in a lot of genres but my focus is jazz, electronic, hip hop rap/ r &b soul, and classicle

Qobuz, Huh? I tried them out, found it impossible to navigate, stuck to TIDAL (which isn't the best laid out site either, but easier than Qobuz). TIDAL also is supposed to do hi rez as well, but haven't figured out how to utilize the hi rez option. (maybe it's just me...)

Serenade for Horace.jpeg

Just had a great time with Louis Hayes' 'Serenade for Horace'.

61 years ago, Louis Hayes had his Blue Note debut on Horace Silver's '6 Pieces of Silver', and now, this is first? album as a leader at Blue Note. Straight forward, traditional, and groovy Blue Note type of music. Though I could do without Gregory Porter's 'Song for My Father'! But besides this, this is a wonderful record, played by a very capable band!

I've been obsessing over this album recently. The guitar solo by Grant Geissman on the title track is one of the best of all time, imo. The whole album is great with some incredible musicianship. Doesn't seem to have been mentioned in this thread yet and would highly recommend a listen. Getting a HQ copy is worth it, lots of details.
