Play-through-folders is a FiiO Music setting. You have to scroll down a ways to find it. Works fine on my X5. For example, Neil Young Decade has Disc 1 & Disc 2 sub-folders. If I touch the play icon on the parent folder, plays disc 1 and then goes right into disc 2. That's what you're looking for, correct?

So when I press the parent folder, it moves to the next screen that shows the sub folder, if I press play it will only play the first subfolder

Oh okay so it wasn't the battery was running down more quickly it was just users unhappy with the battery life that was as it was designed to be. Interesting So I would not be able to get 10 hours playing only mp3 music then?

Thank you

Riley
I was able to get close to 10 hours from 100% - 9%.
For me it's 10% every hour. if I use my A5 AMP, the powerusage is even lower. No wifi-Bluetooth on for me.

Don't know, it works on mine. Touch the folder name navigates into folder. Touch the play icon (all the way on right) starts playing all contents. With Play Through Folders on (turns green), plays each folder in turn. With random playback turned on, plays songs from all sub-folders ... randomly :)

Took forever to start playing when I tried it from root music folder. Thought the player had crashed. It was weird, kept playing song that was already going, but UI became completely unresponsive. After maybe 2 minutes, suddenly came back and started playing a different track.

Fiio X3 2nd gen vs Fiio X5 3rd gen: Sound Quality

Can those that have listened to both describe the SQ differences?

I love my X3ii, and am wondering if I might benefit from an upgrade to the X5iii.

Hello,
for me x5ii was already better than x3ii (personally I preferred x3 on x3ii if we forgot his sw, and his buttons) X5iii has touchscreen, and android. The characteristics of x5 iii known. X5 is greater than x3ii. And with potential.

But they are personal tastes, and I admit I liked the first version x3. You might prefer profile sound version x3ii on vers 1.
Sound quality is fiio. Follows the same line of sound. The most different was vers 1 x3.
sorry for this English.
regards

I just picked one of these up, and I like it for the most part. I always wanted a high quality Android-based, WiFi dac.

Anyway, I'd like to connect it to my IFi idsd Black Label to better drive my MrSpeakers Aeons. I tried USB otg (no audio), spdif (no audio), and line out via RCA is coming in to the iFi very quietly.

For this application, I'm just using the X5iii as a transport.

Any suggestions?

When you used coax did you select coax from the drop down menu of the X5 III?
I have tried LO to am full sized XD integrated amp and the X5 plays really well. I will be getting the iDSD BL in a few days though.

For the spdif no audio issue it happens to me rarely when switching it as my from portable (line-out to portable amp) to transport (coax to DAC). Unplugging and replugging the spdif adapter got the output to work. I also had to restart once to fix the issue in the 3 months i've owned the device.

i need help if it was possible
i have connected my fiio x53rd to my car vw golf with usb
but the fiio alway jump between player and usb storage and i am not able to see it on my car display....
any help thank you so much

Hi, I have the composition Media in my VW Golf, and I could only connect via Bluetooth or aux. With USB it is not possible. With x3ii I have the same behaviour like an iPod, but not with the x5iii. Maybe with a firmware update in the Future...

Hi all,

Is anyone using Wifi Direct on the x5iii?

This is the first time I tried using this Wifi feature and what a surprise it does not work. I managed to pair successfully with my Tab S, however, nothing will transfer.

Wifi Direct works perfectly on my tablet as I use it to transfer files to my phone and Laptop but not the Fiio.

Dear friend,

So the Wifi can be collected, but nothing would transfer?

Is it able to surf the net via the browser?

Best regards

Dear friend,

Maybe you can turn on the in-vehicle mode or switch the USB mode to DAC to see if it helps?

Best regards

Thanks, I'll try that tonight.

Today, I'm bringing this in to work with my Periodic Audio Beryllium iems. I think this will be a very nice pairing.
