These stutters are not actually in the song, if you here a stutter and then right away restart the song it will not be in the same spot. It doex this with my Onkyo DP-X1 just not as bad or as frequently.

I had the issue with 2 songs. Restarting the song didn't fix it for me. I had to re - download.

Restarting the song works for me. Sometimes it goes a while (almost a whole album) without pauses/glitches, and other times it's alomost every song. The AK240 actually shows less WiFi signal strength but has never ever had any glitch or pause with Tidal, unlike the X5iii. Same location, same network. I always stream late in the evening when there is no other bodies around and WiFi traffic is non-existent.

I'll be honest, I was referring to my V20 that had the issue. I don't have the issue of the X5iii (actually I might), but that is because I don't use Tidal on it. All my music comes off the MicroSD. Though, I'm looking for my OTG cable so I can try my 500GB HDD.

Restarting works if connected to wireless and its restreaming. If working from off-line, and the glitch is already there, then redownloading fixes it for me.

For me restarting the song works in offline mode so I don't think this is a download problem (in my case anyway). It seems very random, it could happen to songs that previously played flawless. Maybe it is corrupted SD card, or maybe something not working as it should between Tidal and Android.
Just got around to filling my X5iii with music! Bought 2 x 256GB integral micro sdxc cards and copied files from my NAS drive and MacBook using the USB connection. Worked like a dream, only it took 11 hours for the first 180GB FLAC files to copy to the storage in slot 1! The second 160GB of ALAC files took far less, only just over four hours to the storage in slot 2. I did change the port on my MacBook the second time, more for convenience than anything but unable otherwise to explain the difference in time taken.
Scanning all 5500 tracks took under five minutes.
Edit: Comment about missing album art removed, as incorrect.
In case any new owners are about to add extra storage, the micro sd cards are inverted and the tray is located upside down! This link helps better explain:

Guess I need to own up now and say that I was fortunate to pick up an open box X5iii in red, from AMP3, which allowed extra funds for storage. How could I resist? Makes it even more of a bargain, given the quality build and sublime sound; really loving the Fiio

Just did a long audition today with my friend's AK300 (also with AKM4490 dac) vs my X5III.
Have to say, they sound quite similar in sound signature (probably due to similar DAC), but AK300 sounds nicer to me than my X5III. More energetic, and more detailed. Both warm sounding, but AK300 is more fun sounding.
This is done with balanced output from both AK300 and X5III. AK300 burned in for longer time than my X5III.
This is just comparing on sound quality alone and my own preference, though we are all aware of the double in price, and without full Android.
Have to give it to AK. A single DAC can be tuned to sound better than the dual DAC of the X5III.
Not tempted to change though, as X5III provides much more features for its price. Quite close in sound quality to AK300. Not bad at all!
What headphones and /or IEM's were you using?
@THGM - Very glad you're happy with your new player - enjoy enjoy!!

Only issue I have is that some album art is missing from the ALAC files, which I believe is not unusual.

Convert those ALAC files to FLAC with foobar or something. It's making my OCD go off the scale high! hehe
I'm doing ok with 1x256 and 1x200. I figure whenever the next step up in capacity arrives and comes down in price I'll get it and then move the 200 to SWMBO, she's got my 128 with my DX90. Yup, I got her now, she' got her own Schiit stack and some small Emotiva powered monitors, yup, I'm lucky!

Dear friends,
Not sure what leads to the issue by now. But we will reported to our engineers again about that.
Best regards

Dear friend,
Thank you for your kind support to us. Glad to hear about that.
Not unusual with the ALAC files? Maybe you would like to send the files to us for confirming the issue?
Best regards
