I want to share something Ive found about this in ear: I bought the FIIO EX1 2ND GEN with the M3 as part of an offert for the announcement of the ex1 second generation on the  facebook page  FIIO last year. The pair arrived but the controls on the in ear monitors werent working as they should on my phone(I have an old Motorola Moto G (2nd gen) with android 6), lucky it WORKED fine and as they publicity on the fiio page on the phone of my father(Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with andrioid 5). On my phone only the pause/continue buttom and the mic work but not the up and down volume. I dont think I have a faulty unit but Im guessing that the version on the android had to do more with the way the controls work. In the end Im happy with the unit. I also thought about changing the version of android on my phone, its very bothersome but it can be a solution.

yes, there are thousands of android phone and they are different in the hardware/software, but for iPhones, they always keep the same design so you don't need to worry about the compatibility .

I live in the US but ordered mine from avshops.co.uk Took  2 weeks and the controls work fine on my Moto G4 +,mic also works. It only pauses on my X5 ii. Had to use larger ear tip that I had for my EX1 1st gen.My ears need larger tips and I found some  Westone silicone tips(orange) I like even though they are not made for the EX1's. A little hard to get on but I've got good at it. They also take out some of the mids and highs that are to strong for my taste. They do sound a little better than the 1st gen but not that great when trying to go back and forth from one to the other.

the X5II does not supports volume control through the headphone remote. only X1II/X5III supports the inline vol control but more and more models will supports in the future.

Is there anywhere to purchase these in the US? I only see the older version from US retailers.

Thanks

Dear Lovegamers,

The EX1II will be sent to US in the end of this month.

Best regards

I loved the Titan 1's, and these arrive tomorrow. looking forward to hearing them if they are indeed the next revolution in SQ.

Still burning them in, they are clear, with great bass quantity and quality and good mids. But despite slight sibilance, that i hope will go away with burn in, I think the top end lacks sparkle. I really want to hear other peoples opinion, as i have very limited experience with in-ears. Am i expecting too much, or do I have a false impression of what is a "fun sound"? I do tend to compare them to full size open/semi-open headphones (cheaper than them - Pioneer SE-A1000 and Superlux HD681 Evo, and i find the Fiio EX1 to be less exciting to listen to, less fun for me).

Hi, Lack of Sparkle means lack of detailing in the Mid (Vocal) & Treble segment....Right ?

I may have missed the mark with the comment, unfortunately. I think you are right, but I don't always know how to explain what I'm hearing in proper terminology. It may be spaciousness that I'm missing... or better to explain it with my own words.
I've experienced a similar feeling with the Creative Aurvana Live!. They sounded very clear, and I could head alot of detail, but to me, after listening to open/semi-open headphones they didn't sound exciting. They sounded less lively, more intimate? I endended up returning them, as they couldn't give me "the chills" the same way my Pioneer SE-A1000 could. (What would be the proper terminology for this?)

EX1 MK2's arrived today, just been listening to them with a track I've been producing/mixing for the last month (and hence know it inside out).

One word: fantastic.

I cannot believe that these cost £60. VFM is off the charts! They don't go crazy deep—obviously, being semi open—but the 'normal' bass is great. Big soundstage, great separation of instruments, very good clarity. Tonality and musicality is there too. I felt the sound was slightly muffled using the stock green tips and so tried the medium sized 'Inairs AIR2' (here) and it fixes that instantly. A more open and airy sound with a better top end. Shimmer/sparkle, one could perhaps call it.

JAY Z - Ni**as in Paris sounds incredible. The bass is full on without being bloated or boomy.

One of my favourite reference tracks, Royals (Lorde), is rendered with great accuracy and depth. While the bass doesn't extend as far as my studio PMC setup (or Abyss cans)—which I hope it wouldn't considering the thousands of pounds difference—it still hits the low juxtaposition to the brighter vocals that sit higher in the mix.

The spaciousness in Conrad - SOHN is there too. Again, not like my other gear but we're talking £60 here. SIXTY!

They sit in my ears perfectly and don't move at all. Used to get really annoyed by my old Yamaha MH100's (guessing the model, can't remember exactly) as they popped out a lot. They were £100 but these MKii's destroy them SQ wise.

Added bonus: great cable. Not sticky; easy to round up and pull apart. Volume doesn't work with my iPhone 5s (shame), but pause/skip/next does.

Audio bargain of the century. Do try the AIR2 tips with them, a nice upgrade.

Thank you for the detailed impressions. Does the iem shows any sign of sibilance?

Nope. I found the stock earbud too dull in fact.

I cannot hack sibilance either, very sensitive to it. Bear in mind these are £60 IEMs, the top end isn't going to be perfect. My words are related to that price point (and far beyond actually).

I purchased these from https://www.samma3a.com/en/products/fiio/ex1-2nd-gen-headphones-309.html for $75 (which is really good considering I live in the US and these shipped from the UAE) and I love them so far. I'd give a full review but I don't consider myself qualified considering I'm coming from $10 earbuds and my other cans are the ATH M50s. But I am very impressed with the sound.
